ADVANCE THE WORLD.\nAt AMD, we believe technology has the power to solve the world’s most important challenges. From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMD is shaping the future.\nWhether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or bringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger - technology that moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.\n The Role\nWe are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own the platforms used to build and validate AMD software at scale. These platforms include large on-premises and cloud compute fleets, container platforms, CI/CD services, storage systems, and artifact services used by engineering teams around the world.\nThis is an ownership role, not a ticket queue. You will set the standard for how infrastructure is built, changed, and accessed. You will be trusted to decline requests that could compromise stability, security, or supportability.\nThe Person\nYou are an experienced infrastructure engineer who takes ownership of complex, business-critical platforms. You exercise sound technical judgment, anticipate operational risk, maintain strong change and access controls, and help other engineers develop their skills.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the reliability and lifecycle of mixed Linux and Windows server fleets across on-premises data centres and public-cloud environments.\nOperate container platforms and orchestration technologies, such as Kubernetes or equivalent, across managed-cloud and self-hosted deployments, including upgrades, networking, and capacity management.\nDrive configuration management and automated provisioning at fleet scale, keeping systems reproducible rather than hand-tuned.\nAct as the gatekeeper for infrastructure changes by reviewing and approving change requests, enforcing maintenance windows, and coordinating with IT, network, and security partners.\nOwn access governance, including service accounts, secrets management and rotation, least-privilege access, and periodic access reviews.\nIdentify and retire operational risks before they become outages, including certificate and platform lifecycle issues, capacity constraints, single points of failure, and undocumented systems.\nBuild observability capabilities, including metrics, logging, alerting, and dashboards, that surface problems before users notice them.\nLead incident response, conduct blameless post-incident reviews, and turn recurring fixes into automation or runbooks.\nMentor engineers and administrators and promote knowledge sharing across the team.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience running production infrastructure in large engineering environments. Experience with build, test, or CI/CD platforms is a strong asset.\nStrong experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar platforms, as well as container image pipelines.\nFleet-scale configuration management experience using tools such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet, or Chef, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.\nExperience with virtualisation and cloud platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS, or GCP.\nExperience supporting CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.\nScripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Go.\nSolid knowledge of identity and directory services, PKI, DNS, load balancing, and enterprise networking.\nExperience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK/OpenSearch stack, Splunk, or Datadog.\nA demonstrated track record of enforcing change-management and access-control discipline in a fast-moving organisation.\nExperience using AI assistants to accelerate automation, troubleshooting, and documentation, with the judgment required to verify generated output.\nAcademic Credentials\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.\nLocation\nMarkham, Ontario, Canada. Full-time position.\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services. AMD and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity, inclusive employers and will consider all applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, marital status, medical condition, mental or physical disability, national origin, race, religion, political and/or third-party affiliation, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates and will accommodate applicants’ needs under the respective laws throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.\nAMD may use Artificial Intelligence to help screen, assess or select applicants for this position. AMD’s “Responsible AI Policy” is available here.\n\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy.\nThe Role\nWe are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own the platforms used to build and validate AMD software at scale.
