Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.\nTHE ROLE:\nWe are looking for a Firmware Engineer with a strong background in low level firmware and SoC power management.\nAs part of the Power Management Firmware (PMFW) team, the Engineer will design, develop, integrate, and debug firmware responsible for power management and platform control across AMD SoCs. The role spans pre silicon development and validation through silicon bring up, production readiness, and customer enablement.\nThe engineer will work closely with firmware architects, silicon design, power and performance teams, BIOS, validation, and other firmware teams to develop robust platform firmware and drive complex issues to resolution.\nTHE PERSON:\nYou are passionate about low level firmware development and enjoy solving complex problems at the intersection of hardware and software.\nYou are a motivated self starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively across firmware, silicon, validation, and architecture teams. You have strong debugging and problem solving skills and are comfortable owning technical problems from initial investigation through root cause and resolution.\nYou have excellent technical communication and interpersonal skills and can provide technical leadership on complex firmware development and platform bring up activities.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDesign, develop, integrate, and debug platform management and power management firmware for AMD SoCs\nLead firmware feature development from pre silicon through silicon bring up, validation, and production\nDebug complex firmware and hardware interactions and drive issues through root cause and resolution\nCollaborate with architecture, silicon, BIOS, validation, and power teams to define and deliver platform features\nProvide technical leadership, design and code reviews, and mentorship to other firmware engineers\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nStrong embedded firmware development experience with C and C++\nExperience with SoC power management, boot, reset, initialization, or other low level platform firmware\nStrong understanding of SoC architecture and hardware firmware interfaces\nExperience with pre silicon development and post silicon bring up and debug\nStrong debugging and root cause analysis skills across firmware and hardware boundaries\nDemonstrated ability to independently own complex firmware features and technical problems\nDemonstrated ability to leverage AI assisted development and debugging tools to improve firmware quality, debug efficiency, and engineering productivity\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\n#LI-NP1\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
