To accomplish this, you will need to interact with other key engineering teams such as silicon design, boarding engineering, validation, contract manufacturers and other leaders within AMD.\nTHE PERSON:\nWe are seeking a Principal Mechanical/Electro/Thermal Engineer to lead the design and development of mechanical and thermal systems for our next-generation Instinct products. This is a senior-level, hands-on technical leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, thermal architecture, and cross-functional collaboration.\nYou’ll be responsible for defining, developing, and validating innovative thermal and mechanical solutions that meet demanding performance, reliability, and manufacturability goals across multiple product lines.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDesign/implement infrastructure that supports test and qualification of our Instinct product in production\nManufacturing solutions for our thermal requirements\nCreate detailed designs for mechanical systems and build/test prototypes to validate the designs.\nDevelop innovative approaches to cool the systems and use advanced tools to analyze thermal performance.\nConduct simulations and experiments to verify the designs, ensure compliance with industry standards.\nIdentify and resolve mechanical and thermal related problems.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development while keeping projects on schedule and within scope. \nManage new product development mechanical/thermal processes to ensure successful product launches on time.\nOversee the manufacturing process of mechanical/thermal components and systems to ensure that quality and specifications are met.\nStay at the forefront of mechanical and thermal innovations and technologies to provide strategic product and process enhancements.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nExtensive experience leading robotic automation mechanical design efforts, with a proven track record of delivering high-performance, reliable hardware solutions.\nStrong background in robotic automation, mechanical/electro design, analysis, and validation.\nKnowledge of Design for Assembly/Manufacturing and statical tolerance analysis.\nProficiency in using advanced 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, ProEngineer.\nExperience with thermal and structural analysis tools such as Ansys tools.\nHands-on experience on latest liquid cooling technologies/approaches.\nStrong data analysis skills to analyze mechanical and thermal test results.\nExcellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred in Mechanical Engineering\n#LI-JW2\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
