To accomplish this, you will need to interact with other key engineering teams such as silicon design, board design, signal/power integrity, and manufacturing.\nTHE PERSON:\nAs the Principal CAD PCB Physical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development of AMD NTSG next-generation networking and server products. This is a senior-level, hands-on technical leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of PCB physical design and cross-functional collaboration.\nKEY RESPONSBILITIES:\nPCB physical design for high-speed and high-power boards from initial concept to mass production\nOptimize component placement, high-speed signal routing, critical power plane\nCreate design constraints based on the requirements of Hardware Design engineers, Signal/Power-Integrity engineers, Mechanical/Thermal engineers\nEnsure that complex system layouts meet electrical and mechanical/thermal specifications\nAdapt designs to fit component availability or manufacturing limitations\nResolve any issue related to PCB physical design and ensure a smooth transition from design to production\nGenerate comprehensive manufacturing and assembly packages such as Gerber, ODB\nBuilding strong relationships with both engineers and manufacturers to reduce the risk of redesigning\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development while keeping projects on schedule and within scope. \nStay at the forefront of PCB physical design innovations and technologies to ensure AMD leadership in the industry\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nExtensive experience on PCB physical design for high-speed/high-power systems\nStrong background in electronic fundamentals\nStrong expertise in PCB design software such as Cadence Allegro\nDeep knowledge on different types of layers such as copper, silkscreen, solder mask, and different types of component models such as symbol, footprint\nBasic knowledge of mechanical, thermal, signal integrity, power integrity\nFamiliarity with PCB manufacturing processes and standards\nHands-on experience of balancing the technical requirements from hardware engineers and the practical constraints set by manufacturers\nExcellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor or Master degree of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship\nLOCATION:\nSanta Clara, CA\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
