ADVANCE THE WORLD.\nAt AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.\nAMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger - technology that moves the world forward.\nSr. System Software Quality Engineer\nTHE ROLE:\nAMD’s quality engineering team is looking for an Associate QA Engineer to build, execute, and scale automated test suites for our core memory-tiering agent and central management platform. You will work closely with developers to ensure the stability of low-level Linux systems and high-performance prefetching engines. You will leverage a comprehensive test environment to practice robust test automation daily, using modern AI tools to accelerate development and focus on the core semantics of test behaviors rather than syntax. While automation is central to scaling and regression, some manual testing is also expected.\nTHE PERSON:\nWe are looking for a QA Engineer with proven experience in software testing, QA, or systems validation. The candidate will have advanced Linux knowledge and intermediate Python scripting skills, and will bring endless curiosity about how complex, low-level software and hardware systems interact. The engineer will thrive in a fast-moving, high-velocity environment, working independently while managing rapidly changing priorities.\nThe engineer will engage as an active team player, communicate with empathy across technical and non-technical audiences, and consistently drive to make things better, faster, and more cost-effective.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nWrite, execute, and maintain automated integration and smoke tests daily using Radish/Cucumber and Python.\nDesign and conduct systems-level testing and benchmarking of the memory management platform under real-world workloads.\nReproduce, troubleshoot, and document field-reported issues within local testbeds.\nLeverage AI coding assistants to automate boilerplate, focusing on system semantics, test design, and edge-case validation.\nProduce clear technical documentation, bug reports, and testing updates.\nProvide operational feedback to the CI/CD team to improve the testing environment.\nDeploy ephemeral test environments on demand via Ansible on GCP or AWS.\nCreate new test cases using adhoc or scheduled tests to discover corner case scenarios\nREQUIREMENTS:\n9+ years in software testing, QA, or system validation in a product development company\nAdvanced Linux knowledge (CLI, system services, core OS concepts).\nPlayed a key role in Software Quality for an Enterprise class software product. \nStrong scripting skills in C/C++, python etc.\nImplemented process adherence in development environment\nFamiliarity with GitHub, Ansible, Cucumber/Radish, and Jira.\nCuriosity about low-level software/hardware interaction.\nAbility to work independently amid rapidly changing priorities.\nDrive to make things better, faster, and more cost-effective.\nExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.\nExpertise in one of the domain (Storage, Process, Post Silicon System Validation etc)\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent.\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services. AMD and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity, inclusive employers and will consider all applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, marital status, medical condition, mental or physical disability, national origin, race, religion, political and/or third-party affiliation, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates and will accommodate applicants’ needs under the respective laws throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.\nAMD may use Artificial Intelligence to help screen, assess or select applicants for this position. AMD’s “Responsible AI Policy” is available here.\n\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy.\nSr. System Software Quality Engineer\nTHE ROLE:\nAMD’s quality engineering team is looking for an Associate QA Engineer to build, execute, and scale automated test suites for our core memory-tiering agent and central management platform.
