You will collaborate closely with engineers across silicon, firmware, ROCm, and AI software teams to integrate platform capabilities and support client AI workloads.\nThis position is well suited for engineering Technicians with solid Linux systems experience who want to grow their impact across platform integration, client AI enablement, and product delivery, while gaining exposure to how hardware capabilities are surfaced through firmware and OS layers.\nTHE PERSON:\nYou will be a part of a fast paced, high-performing team. You thrive in a technically challenging environment while working on a variety of different engineering problems using cutting-edge technology.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nRyzen AI & ROCm Client Enablement\nSupport Linux OS enablement for ROCm-enabled Ryzen AI client platforms.\nCollaborate with ROCm runtime, AI software, firmware, and platform teams to integrate Linux support for client AI workloads.\nHelp validate that Linux provides the interfaces, device discovery, and runtime behavior required by ROCm and client-side AI frameworks.\nLinux OS Integration & Configuration\nConfigure, build, and validate Linux kernels and OS settings aligned with ROCm-enabled client platforms.\nAssist in evaluating Linux OS behavior that impacts AI workloads and work with senior engineers to support appropriate solutions.\nSupport Linux distribution readiness by validating kernel configurations and platform compatibility.\nFirmware, ACPI, and Platform Interfaces\nWork with firmware engineers to understand and validate UEFI/ACPI interfaces used by Linux to discover platform devices and capabilities.\nAssist in debugging platform issues spanning firmware and OS boundaries.\nHelp validate firmware-OS interfaces across different Ryzen AI client systems and OEM designs.\nOEM, Distribution, and Ecosystem Collaboration\nSupport Linux enablement activities with OEM platform engineering teams during development and validation.\nAssist in coordinating Linux readiness across internal AMD teams and external partners.\nParticipate in collaboration with Linux and ROCm communities under the guidance of senior engineers\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nHands-on experience with assembling, set-up, and configuration of PC components\nUnderstanding of Linux and Windows Operating Systems\nExperience and understanding of PC Platform Architecture\nHW and SW QA process and methodology\nScripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, and Perl\nDetail oriented, with a drive to learn quickly in a dynamic environment\nStrong communication and presentation skills\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nExperience working with Linux systems on x86 platforms, including kernel configuration and OS-level debugging.\nFamiliarity with GPU-accelerated or AI-accelerated software stacks and their interaction with the OS.\nBasic to intermediate knowledge of UEFI, ACPI, or platform firmware concepts.\nExperience debugging issues across userspace, kernel, and platform firmware.\nProficiency in C for systems-level work and Python for tooling and automation.\nExperience with Git-based workflows and collaborative development environments.\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred, not required\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
