We are seeking a hands-on TMS Solution Architect to lead the design and rollout of a global Transportation Management System (TMS) across our multi-plant, multi-carrier, multi-mode logistics network. This individual will be the connective tissue between Global Logistics (GL) business teams and IT - translating logistics business processes into a scalable solution design, owning the architecture end to end, and leading the organizational change required to adopt it.\nWorking across our SAP S/4HANA backbone, EDI and carrier integrations, and emerging control-tower, RFID, and AI/automation initiatives, you will deliver measurable improvements in transportation cost, speed, visibility, and resilience.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n Business process definition - partner with Global Logistics (GL) and IT to define, document, and standardize transportation business processes across regions, plants, and shipment modes.\nSolution design & architecture - own the end-to-end TMS solution design, including order-to-delivery flows, freight order management, carrier selection and rate shopping, routing and route determination, freight settlement, and track-and-trace.\nEnd-to-end delivery - lead blueprint/fit-gap, configuration oversight, integration design, testing, cutover, and hypercare for the TMS rollout.\nSystems integration - design and govern integrations between the TMS and SAP S/4HANA ,EDI carrier connections, control-tower and visibility platforms, and external logistics partners.\n Carrier & multi-mode enablement - drive carrier onboarding and enablement across ocean, air, parcel, and ground (LTL/FTL) for a large, global carrier base.\nChange management - lead stakeholder alignment, process adoption, training, and communications so the solution lands with the business, not just IT.\nVendor & SI management - partner with software vendors and system integrators; review SOWs, guide delivery teams, and hold them to architecture and quality standards.\nStandards & governance - establish solution standards, data governance, and reusable design patterns to scale the platform across AMD’s network. Recommend process improvements and industry best practices\n Roadmap contribution - support the broader SCT roadmap, including EDI stabilization, RFID, and AI-driven automation initiatives.\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\nProven, hands-on experience rolling out a TMS solution end to end - from design through go-live and stabilization - not solely supporting an existing system.\nDirect experience implementing TMS in a dynamic, global multinational with many manufacturing or distribution plants, a large carrier base, and multi-mode transportation (ocean, air, parcel, ground).\nStrong transportation and logistics business-process expertise: freight management, carrier management, rate and route optimization, freight audit and pay, and delivery performance.\nDemonstrated solution-architecture capability across the full path: requirements → solution design → integration design → delivery.\nTrack record of leading change management and driving cross-functional adoption across both business and IT.\nExcellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence without authority across regions and functions.\nExperience integrating transportation systems with SAP ERP and EDI/carrier networks.\nSignificant experience in SAP Transportation Management with minimum of 3 to 4 end to end TM implementations.\nGood understanding of SAP supply chain processes\n SAP TMS preferred - SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) implementation experience strongly preferred.\nStrong understanding about Inbound and Outbound shipments (Domestic and International), Transportation Load Builder (FTL, LTL), different modes of transports, and Freight Settlement.\nExperience with SAP S/4HANA logistics (SD / LE / MM) and embedded or decentralized TM.\nExposure to leading TMS and control-tower platforms (e.g., Blue Yonder) and logistics visibility solutions.\nFamiliarity with semiconductor, high-tech, or high-volume electronics supply chains.\nEDI, API, IDoc, and middleware integration experience across carrier networks.\nExperience with parcel, international ocean and air freight, and customs/brokerage, duties, and taxes considerations.\nKEY COMPETENCIES\nProcess-first mindset - fluently bridges GL business needs and IT delivery.\nArchitect’s discipline - sees the whole system, manages trade-offs, and documents decisions.\nOwnership & bias for action - thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.\nChange leadership - a clear communicator who moves an organization, not just a system.\nGlobal collaboration - works effectively across cultures and time zones.\n\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
