You will turn complex and often ambiguous business challenges into secure, scalable and commercially viable AI solutions, taking ownership from early discovery and rapid prototyping through to production deployment.\nYou will work directly with partners and customers as a senior technical contributor, working alongside Solution Architects and multidisciplinary teams to make pragmatic technical decisions and solve difficult implementation problems. This is an individual-contributor technical leadership role, with significant influence but no formal line-management responsibility.\nResponsibilities\nLead the technical delivery of complex AI engagements, owning implementation, deployment approach, technical risk and engineering priorities.\nWork directly with customers and senior stakeholders to translate ambiguous business challenges into practical AI solutions.\nRapidly prototype, test and iterate AI solutions with customers to validate assumptions, feasibility and value.\nDesign, build and deploy production-grade generative AI, agentic and other applied AI solutions.\nRemain hands-on throughout delivery, contributing code, integrations, evaluations and technical implementation.\nWork alongside Solution Architects to translate customer requirements and constraints into appropriate solution designs and implementation approaches.\nIntegrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems, data, APIs, workflows and security models.\nEstablish appropriate approaches for AI evaluation, observability, guardrails, human oversight and operational monitoring.\nDiagnose and resolve complex technical problems encountered when deploying AI into customer environments.\nConduct design and code reviews while mentoring engineers and improving technical capability across the practice.\nCollaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Research, Architecture and Customer Success to align strategy and resolve delivery dependencies.\nCreate reusable frameworks, accelerators, playbooks and solution patterns from customer delivery experience.\nEnsure solutions meet appropriate security, privacy, legal, responsible AI, governance and enterprise risk requirements.\nExplain complex AI and engineering concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.\nContribute customer insight and implementation learning to Insight’s AI services, capabilities and go-to-market approach.\nExperience Required:\nSignificant experience delivering software, AI, machine learning or applied AI solutions within complex, customer-facing enterprise environments.\nStrong software engineering capability using languages such as Python or TypeScript/JavaScript.\nHands-on experience building solutions using modern foundation models, LLM APIs and associated AI platforms.\nPractical experience with generative AI patterns including RAG, tool/function calling, structured outputs and agentic workflows.\nExperience designing evaluation approaches covering AI quality, reliability, safety and performance.\nExperience integrating AI solutions with enterprise data, APIs, applications and workflows.\nExperience deploying and operating AI solutions using platforms such as Azure or AWS, or within customer-controlled environments.\nStrong understanding of AI application architecture, orchestration, model selection, context management, observability and LLM operations.\nStrong understanding of production engineering practices, solution architecture, security, testing and maintainability.\nAbility to operate effectively where requirements are incomplete or ambiguous, using experimentation and iterative delivery to converge on solutions.\nProven experience working directly with senior customer stakeholders while maintaining strong technical credibility with engineering teams.\nStrong commercial awareness and judgement to balance customer value, technical risk, delivery speed and scalability.\nExperience creating reusable technical frameworks, components, standards or delivery patterns.\nA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\nA commitment to continuous learning, responsible AI and staying current with developments in AI technology, governance and market expectations.\nWhat success looks like\nYou will turn difficult customer problems into secure, scalable and high-quality AI solutions that create demonstrable value in production.
