As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Aerodynamics Engineer to join the JETSII Contract!\nThe Aerodynamics Engineer will:\nApply knowledge of Earth entry and abort aerodynamics to human-rated spacecraft.\nUtilize Aerodynamic CFD solvers for spacecraft entry analyses\nCreate CFD grids utilizing grid generation software like Pointwise or the Chimera Grid Tools.\nCreate CFD visualizations utilizing tools like Tecplot, Fieldview, or Paraview.\nAnalyze and interpret ground test and flight data from aerodynamic and aerothermal perspectives.\nPerform detailed aerodynamic analyses over a wide range of flight regimes\nPerform other duties as required.\nRequisition Qualifications:\nTypically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience.\nExpertise in aerodynamics in subsonic through hypersonic flight regimes\nExperience with a NASA Aerodynamics CFD solver (CART3D, FUN3D, OVERFLOW)\nExpert in entry and abort vehicles including aerodynamics, trajectories, loads and performance analysis\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees.\nRequisition Preferences:\nPh.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering\nExpertise in interpretation of ground test and flight data\nExperience with CFD database management and post processing automation for dissemination of downstream products\nExperience with CFD visualization tools like Tecplot, Fieldview, or Paraview\nExperience with CFD grid generation software like Pointwise or Hypermesh\nExperience with wind tunnel testing\nExperience with extracting aerodynamic data from flight testing\nExperience automating analyses with programming tools like Fortran and python\nExperience with modern software best practices like software repositories and CI/CD\nCompensation:\nSalary starts at $142,100.
