Some metal working experience preferred such as the operation of a metal shear, brake, pipe bending, and various cutting tools. The incumbent may also design, weld, heat-treat, fabricate, and machine precision tools, components, and assemblies for related Ground Support Equipment (SE). The incumbent may advise about metal machining, welding and designs, manufactures, or modifies special precision tools, gauges, dies, and fixtures to facilitate welding or other shops supported. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or fee; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, crawl or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and various weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and outside weather conditions on occasion. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.\nRequired to clear preliminary Government security background check prior to employment beginning.\nBe proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications and other associated programs.\nMust be able to meet and maintain all base access and contract security requirements.\nMust be able to speak, read, write and understand English.\nMust have a valid Driver's License.\nMust be a High School graduate or equivalent.\nAbility to stand for a prolong period of time performing repetitive tasks.\nAbility to work independently with minimal to no supervision.\n4 years' recent experience and proficiency in the following weld processes': \nGTAW-Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel / 1-6G/F\nGMAW- Steel- 1-6G/F\nSMAW- Steel / 1-6G/F\nOxyfuel brazing\n\nDemonstrated ability to perform various field level and limited sustainment maintenance actions on various Ground Support Equipment systems and subsystems.\nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds.\nDemonstrated the ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, shop drawings and schematics.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nStrong problem-solving skills.\nStrong verbal communication skills.\nIn-Depth knowledge of maintenance repairs on a variety of equipment.\nKnowledge of Continuous Process Improvement.\nTime management and prioritization skills.\nKnowledge of Analog Machinery i.e., lathe, drill press, milling machine, sheer(s).\nGTAW, SMAW, Brazing & GMAW- currently certified.\nDemonstrate knowledge and process steps with locally manufacturing items as per sample.\nPlease submit Resume and applicable qualifications when applying.\nAmentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
