Opportunities may span Front End Enabling Delivery (FEED), concept and preliminary design, detailed design and engineering support through construction and commissioning.\nYou will act as the engineering focal point for your area, bringing together engineering disciplines, safety, operations and project stakeholders to ensure solutions satisfy project requirements and are delivered to the required standards of safety, quality, cost and schedule.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams through the applicable stages of the engineering lifecycle.\n\nTake technical responsibility for the development and delivery of engineering solutions within the allocated area.\n\nDefine and manage engineering scope, requirements, interfaces, technical risks and design deliverables.\n\nLead engineering integration, technical decision-making and resolution of multidisciplinary engineering issues.\n\nEnsure appropriate engineering governance, design assurance, verification and design change arrangements are applied.\n\nEnsure engineering solutions comply with applicable legislation, regulations, standards and safety requirements, including the principles of CDM 2015.\n\nEnsure engineering solutions appropriately consider construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and decommissioning requirements.\n\nManage engineering delivery against agreed scope, cost, schedule and quality requirements, including resource planning and forecasting.\n\nWork collaboratively with Project Engineering Managers, Project Managers, engineering disciplines, Safety Case, Operations, Construction, Commissioning and other key stakeholders.\n\nPromote high standards of engineering professionalism, technical integrity and nuclear safety.\n\n Essential Experience\nWe're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:\n\nSignificant engineering experience within a highly regulated and quality-assured environment.\n\nSignificant experience in an engineering design environment where professional engineering judgement has been a key attribute.\n\nProven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.\n\nExperience taking technical responsibility for the development and/or delivery of complex engineering solutions.\n\nStrong understanding of engineering governance and design assurance.\n\nExperience managing engineering requirements, technical risk, interfaces and design change.\n\nExperience delivering engineering scope to cost, schedule and quality requirements.\n\nKnowledge and application of relevant engineering legislation, regulations, codes and standards.\n\nGood working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.\n\nStrong stakeholder management and influencing skills.\n\n Desirable Experience\nExperience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:\n\nSellafield or other UK nuclear industry experience.\n\nFront End Engineering Design (FEED), concept and preliminary design.\n\nDetailed design delivery.\n\nSystems Engineering and Requirements Management.\n\nOptioneering, Value Management or Technology Readiness Assessment.\n\nCDM Principal Designer responsibilities.\n\nSafety Case development and design substantiation.\n\nConstruction, installation and commissioning support.\n\nSupply-chain engineering management.\n\nExperience working within gated project delivery processes.\n\nQualifications\nRelevant engineering qualification or demonstrable equivalent engineering experience.\n\nMembership of a recognised professional engineering institution is desirable.\n\nChartered Engineer status is desirable and would normally be expected for higher-complexity AEM assignments.\n\nOur Culture\nOur values are built on a strong foundation of safety, integrity, and respect for every individual.
