This includes general cargo, science group cargo, passengers,and cargo returning from camps.\n\nActs as McMurdo Station liaison for field camp resupply, including grantee resupply.\n\nSupports work centers to properly handle all priority, retrograde, and hazardous field camp cargo movements while resolving any outstanding cargo transport issues.\n\nCommunicates viaradioand/or telephonewith thefieldcampsupervisor to coordinate resupply and cargo priorities while also providing updates on all cargo movement issues.\n\nProvides daily cargo priority lists to the Movement Control Center (MCC) foraircraftmission load planning.\n\nCommunicates daily with MCCloadplanners foraircraftmission loads.\n\nAssistswithinventories, general organization, and mapping of field camp cargo staged in McMurdo.\n\nInitiatesDiscrepancy Reports (DISREPS) for all flights with cargo or passenger manifestingdiscrepancies(fieldcamps).\n\nCollaborates with United States Antarctic Program (USAP) Cargopersonnel,fixed-wingcoordinators,and MCC to overcome any transportation, cargo,or hazardous material issues.\n\nForwards field campproject“callforward”requeststo the MCCsupervisor for processing.\n\nResearchfield camp shipping number discrepancies in the cargo tracking software system and corrects labeling errors.\n\nAssistswith science cargo processing, asrequired.\n\nComplies withall ASC Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH), Waste Management and Quality Assurance requirements, goals, policies,and procedures.\n\nPerforms other duties asrequired.\n\nRequired Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses:\nHigh School diploma orGED\n\nTwoyearsofexperiencein a combination of the following: customer service, administrative duties, reporting,and/ordata management.\n\nExpected Skills and Competencies:\nProficiencywith various computer programs including Microsoft Office software and email systems.\n\nStrong organizational and data management skills.\n\nPreferred:\nOne year of experience in planning and organizing remote cargo/supply movements, and/orlogisticsplanning, or one summer season in a position within Transportation and Logistics.\n\nFamiliarity withaircraftload planning and regulations governing transportation of hazardous materials.\n\nPhysical and/or Other Requirements:\nWillingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods\n\nSuccessful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica\n\nSuccessful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer\n\nSuccessful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF\n\nMust be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum as required by the position.\n\nMust be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme cold as required by the position.\n\nMustparticipatein community programs, such as “house-mouse” (chores), “daisy-picking” (cleaning-up around the station), recycling efforts & safetyobjectives.\n\nValid Driver’s License issued in the United States\n\nNo clearance requirement but the contract and/or the site requires US Citizenship to be approved for access. (includes NACI / T1, MRPT, CAC): Must be able to obtain andmaintainfacility credentials/authorization.
