Inspects repairs and modification of aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.\nPlans, conducts, and supervises aircraft technical inspections.\nDevelops and implements quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.\nEvaluates personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience.\nPerforms audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities.\nExamines parts and components for conformance to design specification to determine serviceability; serviceable, unserviceable-reparable, unserviceable-non reparable, affixing completed appropriate form/tag for disposition; return to stock, route to appropriate shop for repair and/or turn-in. Form/tag will contain comment relative to evaluation and be stamped by the Inspector.\nMonitors timeliness and applicability of maintenance technical data and technical library.\nReviews maintenance source documents, inspection records, notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate action.\nManages the material deficiency and technical order improvement program.\nReviews engineering investigation requests.\nInitiates and reviews quality deficiency reports, technical deficiency reports and hazardous material reports, ensuring that they are accurate, clear, concise and comprehensive.\nConducts safety inspections, training, and drills. Inspects and verifies proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies.\nBriefs and debriefs pilots and crew members assigned to functional check flights.\nParticipates in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.\nEnsures compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis Program and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration.\nProvides lower level technicians guidance in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards and operational policies throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.\nPrepares evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance repair and related activities.\nMake entries in aircraft logs and records.\nPerform other qualified duties as requested.\nMinimum Requirements\nFive (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.\nOne (1) year experience inspecting MDS (CH47) assigned.\nA valid and up-to-date (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license. If no A&P, shall have a minimum of five (5) years as an aircraft inspector on the MDS (CH47) assigned.\nA Valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA). If no IA, shall have a minimum of five (5) years as an inspector on the MDS (CH47) assigned.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, NAC-I T1 Public Trust. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a T1/CAC NACI Clearance.\nValid Drivers License.\nKnowledge & Skills\nKnowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems or other technology as applicable to fabrication, repair, operation and maintenance requirements.\nEfficient in record keeping and preparation of reports; capable of reviewing other people's work and determining accuracy and conformity to standards.\nProficient in the use of the Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation Enhanced (ULLS-AE), the current maintenance management system utilized to maintain Army aircraft forms and records.\nThorough comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.\nThorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.\nDetailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.\nAbility to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.\nExcellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.\nPhysical Requirements/Working Environment\nMust be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.\nMust be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.\nMust be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.\nMay be required to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.\nMust be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.\nWill handle dirty parts and lubricants.\nWill be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\nMust be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.\nMay be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, etc.\nMust be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.\nMay work in normal office environment, maintenance shop or outside.\nMust be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.\nMay be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.\nMay be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or
