Candidates may be based at either our Tullahoma, TN or Farmington Hills, MI office.\nOur Advanced Solutions Group delivers the design, construction, and operation of unique and complex research and development facilities across the nuclear, automotive, motorsports, defense, and aerospace industries. Our team has supported an impressive range of clients, including Audi, Boeing, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Honda, General Motors, NASA, the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Department of Energy, Volkswagen, and organizations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nThis Controls & Instrumentation Engineer role will support projects ranging from small studies to multi-million-dollar turnkey solutions. The successful candidate will be team-oriented, organized, and an effective communicator who can meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with engineering and business professionals to ensure client satisfaction and deliver projects within scope, budget, and schedule.\nDeveloping hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for SCADA systems.\nDeveloping control system software designs.\nDeveloping control system software including PLC programming and HMI development.\nDeveloping interfaces to facility equipment using various industrial control protocols (MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, etc.)\nApplying closed loop controls methods to control continuously variable systems.\nProviding quality system processes such as checking the work of others, following standard procedures, and ensuring compliance to codes and standards (ISA, IEEE, NEC, etc.)\nSupporting hardware assembly and fabrication through panel shop testing.\nPerforming light installation tasks on-site for commissioning efforts\nProviding on-site team direction of facility startup, checkout, and commissioning activities, both domestically and abroad.\nCommunicating with clients and management regarding project status.\nCoordinating with other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure success.\nEstimating system design, material, installation, checkout, commissioning, and activation of projects.\nPlanning labor resources and scheduling project milestones to ensure project completion within technical scope, budget, and client schedule.\nDeveloping proposals to capture future work with current clients and new markets.\nLeading SCADA projects through all phases to include design, fabrication, implementation, testing and commissioning.\nRequired Qualifications:\nUS citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations.\nA Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in control or data acquisition system design, implementation, and commissioning.\nExperienced PLC and HMI software developer in one of the major environments (for instance, Rockwell Software Studio 5000, SIEMENS TIA Portal, Emerson PC ME) with a working knowledge of the other environments.\nExperience selecting, specifying, and procuring process instrumentation and actuation hardware, control and data acquisition system hardware, PLCs, drive and motion systems, automation network hardware, interconnect cabling and supporting equipment.\nA solid math background to select and develop data uncertainty calculations, digital filter algorithms, control transfer function realizations, and process simulation.\nAn ability to lead single and multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver technically successful control and data systems, often unique one-of-a-kind systems. Must train, encourage, and mentor junior colleagues.\nA desire to develop ingenious alternative approaches to challenges, and drive innovation during all phases of projects.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPE license or ability to work toward PE (EIT)\nDescription of Work Environment:\nWork will mainly be performed in an inside-office environment.\nField work may be required, including outside work.\nMost of the travel relates to the commissioning and site acceptance efforts. These trips can range from a single week to multiple consecutive weeks, depending on the project assigned to the candidate.\nCompensation Details:\n$110,000 - $135,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
