As an Controls Technician - Electrical, you will install, maintain, test, startup, and adjust a wide variety of electrical, electronic, electropneumatic, and electro-mechanical instrumentation and control systems/equipment. Specific electrical and controls (E&C) systems include, but are not limited to, those associated with the electrical distribution system, turbine generators, chillers, boilers, incinerators, and HVAC equipment.\nWork Schedule:\nRegular Schedule: 1:30 PM- 10:00 PM Monday-Friday\n(5:30 AM- 2:00 PM Monday-Friday during training period)\nEssential Responsibilities:\nRead, interpret, and troubleshoot site E&C system deficiencies using electrical schematics, loop diagrams, control logics, mechanical drawings, and piping & instrument diagrams (P&IDs).\nTroubleshoot indiscriminately both the mechanical and electrical sides of systems. Maintain as-built logics, control loop diagrams, and documentation for all assigned systems. \nInstall, program, troubleshoot, calibrate, tune, preventive and predictive maintenance (condition monitoring), replace and repair all assigned E&C systems and all associated electrical, electronic, electropneumatic, and electro-mechanical components, including instrumentation and end-elements. \nTroubleshoot hardware and software problems; perform simple programming, data base changes, and alarm log reviews; perform and maintain system back-ups and history database files; develop and install graphics to enhance operation and maintenance; and perform miscellaneous administrative functions as directed by E&C Engineer on site’s microprocessor-based central control systems. \nProgram and troubleshoot ladder logic, both in hard-wired relays and PLC, for control systems. \nAdjust control system parameters as required and/or directed by E&C Engineer. \nPerform startup and checkout of newly installed E&C systems prior to operations turnover. \nComplete ADC’s as required. \nDirect repair personnel as assigned. \nProvide technical support as required to the E&C Engineer in the performance of his/her duties. \nPerform all other duties as assigned. \nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:\nIncumbents may work in conditions that require operating industrial machinery/power tools and motor vehicles. Additionally, incumbents may participate in work that requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility. Workplace conditions necessitate following strict safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these functions.\nMinimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):\nWorking experience in electrical, industrial electronics, and electro-pneumatics. \nAbility to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using electrical schematics, loop diagrams, control logics, mechanical drawings, and piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID’s). \nWorking knowledge of PLC programming. Must be able to read, interpret, and troubleshoot ladder logic from computer terminal. \nKnowledgeable in direct digital control (DDC) and other forms of electronic controls. \nHands-on experience in calibration and maintenance of electronic and/ or electro-pneumatic control system equipment. \nHands-on experience in repair and troubleshooting of motor control centers and variable frequency drives (VFD’s). \nAbility to quickly learn operating and control systems for principal site-specific systems including, but not limited to, the electrical distribution system, turbine generators, chillers, boilers, incinerators, and \nHVAC equipment. \nAbility to comprehend written and oral instructions. \nA willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as, overtime, on-call, call-ins, weekends, and holidays. \nSecurity Clearance Required:\nMust be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.\nThe Government has full and complete control over granting, denying, withholding, or terminating security clearances for Contractor employees. Decisions on clearance requirements for positions will ultimately be decided by the customer based on access and requirements. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure these decisions are approved and executed based on the customers guidance.\nMinimum Education:\nHigh school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.\nMinimum Years of Experience:\nTwo years’ experience in maintenance and repair on commercial/industrial/residential building equipment to include, but not limited to: cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers. \nFive years working experience with 120VAC. \nRequired Certifications:\nJourneyman Electrical License.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nTwo years working experience with high voltage up to 15,000VAC, preferred. \nAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. \nUnderstanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and SCADA, preferred. \nUnderstanding of HVAC building management systems (BMS), preferred. \nNFPA-70E Training. \nOSHA 10 Training. \nCPR Training. \nCertified and proficient in Foxboro computer systems to include hands-on and / or classroom experience, preferred. \nThis position isdesignated as a safety sensitive position.\nAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, Amentum is a drug-free workplace and requires all personnel to comply with company drug and alcohol policies as a condition of employment.
