This role plays a vital role in situational awareness and operational continuity for mission-critical enterprise systems and services across the Department of Defense. The ideal candidate brings a proactive approach to monitoring, coordinating, and reporting on operational status across complex IT environments. The Ops Controller oversees day-to-day security operations, drives best practices, promotes automation, and champions continual service improvement initiatives to optimize security operations and reduce organizational risk.\nKey Responsibilities:\n· Serve as the primary point of contact for coordination of operational security activities, monitoring, and change management.\n· Monitor enterprise operations for system health, availability, and performance using various monitoring tools.\n· Coordinate real-time responses to outages, incidents, and service degradations; ensure timely escalation and resolution.\n· Lead incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis and remediation.\n· Track and document scheduled and unscheduled service interruptions (Authorized Service Interruptions - ASIs).\n· Maintain operational documentation, daily activity logs, and cybersecurity registers.\n· Provide 24/7 mission support during shift-based operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.\n· Support operational reporting and analysis to improve situational awareness, operational tempo, and mission readiness.\n· Interface with system administrators, network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and government stakeholders.\n· Manage change control processes, minimizing risk to cybersecurity services.\n· Ensure team compliance with processes, procedures, and Systems Engineering principles.\n· Communicate status and operational health to stakeholders, including senior leadership.\n· Drive continuous improvement initiatives within cybersecurity operations.\nThe successful candidate will:\n· Have strong verbal and written communication skills\n· Be able to interact effectively with senior leadership.\nResumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. The selected candidate may be assigned as an employee for one of our teammate companies.\n\nBasic Requirements:\n· Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience\no May be reduced with completion of advanced education\n· Must have 4, or more, years of directly related experience in IT operations management, network control center (NCC), or enterprise operations center (EOC) roles.\n· Must have 6, or more, months of experience working in a management or leadership role\n· Must have IT Operational Management experience spanning multiple enterprise environments, including DoD and commercial.\n· Must have a deep understanding of ITIL framework and best practices, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service release management.\n· Must be familiar with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Netcool, HP OpenView, etc.).\n· Must have 1, or more, 8570 or 8410 compliant certifications\n· Must have, or obtain, an active DoW Secret Security Clearance\n\nDesired Requirements:\n· Have a Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in computer science, Information Technology,\n· Have experience in a specific industry (e.g., MDA, DoD IT Operations).\n· Have project management experience.\n· Have an ITIL Strategic Leader certification.\n· Have 1, or more, certifications:\no ITIL Certification (e.g., ITIL 4 Foundation, ITIL 4 Managing Professional)\no Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate)\nThis position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days.
