This position will help support exploitation missions both CONUS (Continental United States) and OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) via deployment.\nThis is an evergreen, pipeline requisition, but a current and ongoing need on the contract.\nExamine evidence in consultation with firearms and latent print analysts (as needed) to ensure the proposed collection approach will not negatively impact collection of other forensic data from the evidence.\nEnsure proper chain of custody is maintained. \nCollect potential DNA samples from evidence using approved procedures designed to minimize the possibility of sample contamination. All samples shall be properly packaged, marked, and stored in preparation for extraction.\nUse photographic equipment to capture still images of each evidence item and relevant key portions of the evidence item, or other exhibits, to support further analysis, conclusions, and documentation. \nGenerate STR DNA profiles from evidence and reference samples.\nAnalyze and interpret data using probabilistic genotyping software.\nAnnotate the case file documentation and generate reports, detailing the processing techniques and the examination results.\nPerform administrative and/or technical reviews of reports and worksheets.\nPerform instrument maintenance.\nMinimum Requirements\nOne (1) year of experience working independently in a forensic laboratory performing DNA analysis on criminal evidence and/or intelligence exploitation.\nA bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or forensic related field with coursework in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, statistics and/or population genetics.\nIndependent experience must include the following:Identification of bodily fluids such as blood\nAbility to extract DNA using automated platforms\nGeneration of STR and Y-STR DNA profiles via standard and direct amplification\nExperience with mixture interpretation using probabilistic genotyping software\nExperience with submission of DNA profiles to databases\nExperience in technical and administrative case file reviews\n\nMust be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance. (Please note: US citizenship is required to obtain a US Secret security clearance).\nMust be able to obtain a US passport. \nMust be able to complete and pass a medical assessment per customer requirements.\nCompensation Details:\n$65,000-$105,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
