This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex component challenges, collaborating across government and industry, and staying deeply engaged in quality, reliability, and standards work.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide component engineering support to technologists, including authoring clear and well-structured technical reports.\nAdvise military programs and hardware designers on part selection to ensure performance, reliability, and long-term sustainment.\nTroubleshoot component-level technical issues and recommend effective solutions.\nApply knowledge of electrical test methods, radiation effects, failure analysis techniques, and material analysis tools.\nCollaborate with program offices, prime contractors, designers, parts manufacturers, test labs, and government stakeholders.\nCreate, review, and refine detailed test plans and related documentation.\nProvide full life-cycle engineering support for strategic defense systems.\nParticipate in DLA audits, JEDEC working groups, and reviews of military performance specs and test methods-helping shape industry and defense standards.\nTravel 25% to support audits, reviews, meetings, and program engagements.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering preferred) and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.\nComponent engineering experience with emphasis on quality and reliability of IEEE parts.\nFamiliarity with (or willingness to learn) best design practices for IEEE components.\nBasic understanding of military industry standards (MIL-STD).\nAbility to analyze differences across part standards and apply them appropriately.\nStrong communication skills for engagement with customers, program offices, colleagues, and contractors.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn advanced functions.\nAbility to write clear, accurate technical reports.\nBasic understanding of electrical testing of IEEE parts.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced component engineering experience focused on quality and reliability of IEEE parts.\nExperience with discrete, passive, digital, or analog devices.\nDeep knowledge of best design practices for IEEE components, especially ICs and related manufacturing processes.\nUnderstanding differences between military, industry, commercial, and automotive standards.\nStrong Excel skills (complex formulas, macros, automation).\nStrong understanding of electrical testing of IEEE parts and ability to perform basic benchtop testing.\nActive Secret Clearance.\nCompensation Details:\n$150,000 - $190,000 annuallyThe compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
