Our commitments are underpinned by the belief that safety, collaboration and well-being are integral to success.\nAmentum is seeking an Electronics Technician (Telephone Systems) to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Electronics Technician (Telephone Systems) will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.\nJob Responsibilities:\nInstalling, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic and electrical equipment to ensure operational efficiency.\nPerforming tests, inspections, and diagnostics on electrical and electronic systems to identify and resolve technical issues.\nEnsuring compliance with NAVFAC MO-200 standards, including training and certification requirements for personnel working with or on electrical or electronic equipment.\nMaintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.\nReading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to perform system repairs and modifications.\nEnsuring all work complies with safety regulations, operational requirements, and electrical codes.\nCoordinating with supervisors and other team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repairs.\nParticipating in ongoing training to maintain certifications and stay current with technological advancements and NAVFAC standards.\nPerform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.\nRequired Qualifications:\nOne (1) to three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment.\nMust be BICSI Registered Technician Level certified or higher. In lieu of BICSI certification, must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in “standards-based” installation of the specified copper and fiber optic cable and components.\nMust have telecommunications industry or factory approved certification from each equipment manufacturer indicating they are qualified to install and test the provided products.\nCertification and training in working with electrical or electronic equipment, as required by NAVFAC MO-200 standards.\nAbility to read and interpret technical documents, wiring schematics, and electronic manuals.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMust be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.\nPassport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.\nAbility to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.\nAbility to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.\nMust read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAssociate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.\nExperience with NAVFAC standards and electrical/electronic equipment maintenance in a military or industrial setting.\nPrior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.\nValid country driver’s license.\nExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an operational environment.\nOther Responsibilities:\nSafety: Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.\nPhysical Requirements\nRequirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
