We’re happy to discuss hybrid, part-time and flexible working hours, patterns and locations to suit you and our business.\nAbout the Opportunity\nHub 5 covers the Simulant Testing and Evaluation Facility (STEF) for the wider EU Project and the trial laboratory at the University of Bristol (UoB). These facilities will provide an environment to test the major plant items and Containment suites for the main PP&E Designs.\nThe Engineering Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation and performance of engineering activities for the UoB & STEF designs. They will work with the Project Manager and maintain a close working relationship with the PP&E Design HUB PEMs and Suppliers to ensure the ongoing PP&E designs are shared and included into the STEF. They will manage the initial and detailed designs of both areas including supporting services, via a selected supplier and designer, to ensure the facilities are able to meet client demands and first of a kind output.\nKey Responsibilities\nAct as the Engineering Point of Contact for all parties relating to UoB and STEF\nDraft the UoB Trial Scope / Specification and once approved produce the technical specifications for the main plant items in collaboration with the Client and PP&E PEMs.\nWork with the HUB Designers to ensure that UoB trial equipment designs and manufacture meet the clients and trials requirements\nAssist the UoB personnel in commissioning and setting to work the UoB trial equipment\nLiaise with and manage the Client stakeholder(s) to ensure the trials output meets the both the client and Project demands.\nMonitor and provide regular updates on the progress of all activities from design to trials to the HUB PM.\nProviding management and guidance to the Simulant Testing and Evaluation Facility (STEF) suppliers\nSupport the timely communication of design information from the Design Hubs into the STEF design\nAssist with the establishment and implementation of project manpower needs and coordinate technical activities among disciplines.\nIdentify and ensures compliance with all statutory and licensing requirements.\nCompile lists from each discipline to develop master document list for the Hub.\nWork with project stakeholders to develop subcontract and work package descriptions that are consistent with the contracting plan for the STEF project.\nCoordinate development of work-hour estimates and transfer information to Project Controls for preparation of engineering cost estimate in collaboration with the HUB PM.\nCooperate with other departments in the company participating on the project.\nSchedule and coordinates meetings between Project Engineering, the client and other outside groups.\nKeep project stakeholders advised of project progress, performance with attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions.\nProduce & maintain proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, etc. that affect the conduct of the project.\nCoordinate the customers engineering comments, approvals and requests with the functional activities of all disciplines.\nCoordinate Independent Engineering Design Reviews by discipline engineering management alongside the PP&E Senior PEM.\nManage Design change using the Project process and inform design suppliers of any required changes / LFE ensure full audit trail.\nAttend the trials sites and client sites as required to meet schedule and testing dates.\nHere's What You'll Need\nProactive mentality to ensure projects are driven at pace and capability to problem solve\nHold a formal qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline\nEngineering Management experience leading suppliers’ teams\nExperience in setting up, running and reporting or Engineering trials.\nProven experience within a highly regulated construction sector (including commissioning)\nSound understanding of CDM regulations\nUnderstanding of Building Services / Mechanical & Electrical disciplines and outputs\nAwareness of NEC Contracts and RIBA processes is Preferred.\nCurrently hold SC or prepared to go through the SC process\nOur Culture\nOur values are built on a strong foundation of safety, integrity, and respect for every individual.
