The primary purpose of this position is to manage the financial operations and ensure adherence to financial requirements for government contracts. The Finance Manager will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting financial information and ensuring compliance with customer requirements and budgets. This role is crucial in supporting the organization's financial integrity and operational efficiency.\nEssential Responsibilities\nApply accounting principles to track and analyze financial data and prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for customers.\n\nMonitor financial adherence to customer requirements and budgets.\n\nDevelop and maintain a Contract Line-Item Number (CLIN) database for all contract purchases.\n\nReconcile and approve vendor invoices for payment.\n\nAnalyze financial information to forecast option year budgets.\n\nReview cash requirements and prepare for future procurement.\n\nAdminister Level of Effort (LOE) and cost-type contracts.\n\nUtilize Excel and Access Database proficiently to perform accounting procedures.\n\nMaintain security clearance requirements as needed.\n\nMinimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required\nEducation Requirement:\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a minimum of five (5) years of experience working with government contracts.\n\nCandidates without a Bachelor’s Degree may be considered on a case-by-case basis with the following qualifications:\nHigh school, vocational school, or trade school diploma or equivalent.\n\nA minimum of ten (10) years of experience in financial management-related positions of responsibility and complexity similar to the scope of this role.\n\nAt least six (6) years of experience in the field of accounting. The years of experience in management and accounting can be concurrent.\n\nSkills and Abilities:\nProficiency in Excel and Access Database.\n\nExtensive knowledge of accounting procedures and government contract management.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to prepare comprehensive financial reports and forecasts.\n\nExperience in monitoring and maintaining compliance with financial regulations and budgets.\n\nAbility to obtain a secret security clearance.\n\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands\nThe position is primarily office-based with occasional travel to customer sites, as required.\n\nThe role requires prolonged periods of sitting, use of computers, and engagement in routine office tasks.\n\nMental demands include the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and meet tight deadlines.\n\nThe work involves a high level of collaboration and communication with team members and external stakeholders.\n\nOther Responsibilities: Safety - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
