We’re happy to discuss hybrid, part-time and flexible working hours, patterns and locations to suit you and our business.\nAbout the Opportunity:\nAmentum is currently seeking an Entry Level High Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer to join our team and grow into a key contributor in supporting and evolving our high-performance computing infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career technologist with a passion for Linux systems, computing performance, and scientific research support.\nYou’ll work closely with senior HPC engineers to manage and maintain our systems, assist users, and develop your technical skillset in a collaborative environment.\nThis is not a hybrid/remote role and will require full-time site attendance.\n Key Responsibilities:\nAssist in managing HPC clusters utilising Slurm workload manager.\n\nPerform entry-level system administration tasks on RHEL and other Linux-based systems under guidance.\n\nHelp support and maintain license servers (e.g., FlexLM, RLM).\n\nContribute to node deployment efforts using xCAT and Ansible.\n\nAssist in basic hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting.\n\nProvide first-level user support, including account setup and job troubleshooting.\n\nMonitor system status and cluster performance using tools such as Nagios and Ganglia.\n\nParticipate in basic security and compliance tasks, including vulnerability scans with Nessus.\n\nHelp support HPC storage systems, including Pure Storage and NetApp, as part of the storage team.\n\nLearn and assist with networking tasks, including Infiniband interconnects.\n\nHere's What You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.\n\nBasic knowledge of Linux system administration.\n\nFamiliarity with at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).\n\nInterest in high-performance computing and willingness to learn Slurm, xCAT, and Ansible.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\nGood communication and collaboration skills.\n\nAbility to work independently with mentorship and as part of a team.\n\nSole UK National status due to Role and Client requirement.\n\nAbility to attain UKSV Security Clearance.\n\nAbility to work on site 5 days a week.
