The Material Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory, distribution, and tracking of materials and supplies to ensure operational needs are met efficiently and effectively. This role collaborates with multiple teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, streamline supply chain processes, and ensure compliance with organizational and contractual requirements. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nJob Responsibilities:\nManaging material inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels, and tracking material usage and restocking schedules.\nOverseeing the procurement process, including ordering, receiving, and issuing materials and supplies.\nMonitoring storage facilities to ensure proper handling, storage, and distribution of materials in compliance with safety and operational guidelines.\nVerifying that all materials conform to required specifications and addressing any issues related to quality, shortages, or damaged goods.\nMaintaining accurate documentation and records of material inventory, transactions, and audits for compliance and reporting purposes.\nCoordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of critical materials, and resolving issues related to delays or backorders.\nSupporting the development and implementation of material management procedures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.\nCollaborating with operational departments to assess material needs, forecast future requirements, and prioritize delivery schedules.\nEnsuring adherence to safety and environmental protocols when handling hazardous materials (HAZMAT) or regulated substances.\nPreparing and generating inventory and material usage reports for management review.\nPerform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.\nRequired Qualifications:\nThree (3) years of experience in material management, handling, procurement, inventory control, or related roles.\nProficiency in inventory management systems, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, or material tracking tools.\nStrong knowledge of supply chain and logistics functions, including procurement, warehousing, and inventory control.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nSolid communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate efforts across teams and departments.\nDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and effective time management abilities.\nMust be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.\nPassport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year at the time of hire.\nAbility to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.\nAbility to successfully meet contract medical requirements and maintain operational readiness for the duration of deployment.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.\nCertifications such as CIPM (Certified Inventory & Procurement Manager) or APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) accreditation.\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to forecast inventory and material needs accurately.\nPrior experience working in military or government procurement and material management settings.\nKnowledge of HAZMAT shipping, handling, and storage procedures.\nExperience in a remote OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) or austere environment.\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\nSafety: Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
