Candidates may be based at either our Tullahoma, TN; Farmington Hills, MI; or Greenville, SC office.\nOur Advanced Solutions Group delivers the design, construction, and operation of unique and complex research and development facilities across the nuclear, automotive, motorsports, defense, and aerospace industries. Our team has supported an impressive range of clients, including Audi, Boeing, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Honda, General Motors, NASA, the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Department of Energy, Volkswagen, and organizations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nDesign process and mechanical systems, including:High-pressure cryogenic and pneumatic piping systems.\nHigh-temperature systems, including steam systems.\nRefrigeration, vacuum, and fuel systems.\nSpecialty HVAC systems and components.\n\nSize and specify piping/ducting and related components, and select compressors, pumps, fans, valves, flow measurement, and fluid conditioning equipment.\nCreate engineering calculations and specifications and oversee the creation of engineering drawings.\nGather information, interview stakeholders, conduct studies and calculations, and prepare rough layouts and sketches as required.\nAnalyze work features, apply sound engineering principles and practices, and review assigned task results for completeness, accuracy, and adequate documentation.\nUnder the direction of a Senior Engineer, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work, including selecting, adapting, or modifying techniques, procedures, and criteria.\nProvide installation support and supervision, working with suppliers, subcontractors, and other trades from the office and project sites.\nCollaborate with structural, machine design, controls and instrumentation, and aerodynamics/fluid dynamics engineers.\nWork on and lead project teams developing new designs for process systems supporting automotive and aerospace research and test facilities, taking ownership of assigned technical schedules, budgets, and quality standards.\nSupport the Project Manager and Senior Engineer with ongoing design efforts, working independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team to meet project budgets and schedules.\nDevelop technical reports and presentations for project management and clients.\nParticipate in internal and external meetings and design reviews with team members and clients.\nParticipate in proposal development and support marketing activities.\nWork in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high-quality standards.\nRequired Qualifications:\nUS citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations.\nA Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.\nMinimum of 5 years of engineering experience, or 2-3 years of engineering experience with a Master of Science (MS) degree from an accredited engineering school.\nAbility to work in a multi-discipline team environment is required\nAbility to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment.\nDemonstrated knowledge and experience with common process piping systems.\nStrong mechanical and process engineering analytical skills.\nExcellent oral and written communication, technical problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a self-motivated and team-oriented approach.\nHigh ethical standards and a strong commitment to self-development, teamwork, and desire to work.\nExperience managing project scope, schedules, and budgets.\nDesign experience, including the layout and development of process drawings and specifications.\nKnowledge of AMSE B31.1 and B31.3 and ASME B&PV Code.\nKnowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow - compressible and incompressible, thermal sciences, and process systems. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nPE license or FE/EIT certification.\nPrior design experience with process systems.\nExperience in the design and/or maintenance of mechanical process systems.\nExperience with AutoCAD, AutoPipe, Caesar II, Mathcad, Creo, and AFT.\nPrevious DOE nuclear, DoD, NASA, or test facility experience.\nDescription of Work Environment:\nWork will mainly be performed in an inside-office environment.\nField work may be required, including climbing test stands and working around machinery.\nTravel may be required to support design reviews, attend factory acceptance testing of equipment, support construction activities, and provide onsite support for startup and commissioning activities.\nCompensation Details:\n$100,000 - $115,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
