Responsible in reviewing and analyzing HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and fire suppression systems, reviewing mechanical drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems. This position will be in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and it is located at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Doha, Qatar.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nThis discipline attends meetings as required for projects or investigative/ project development taskings.\n\nThis discipline shall also be responsible for construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers.\n\nIn addition, this discipline may be required to travel to areas in the local area outside of the military installation to verify compliance and quality of work being performed on jobs/projects.\n\nPerform other qualified duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:\nMust have knowledge of principles of engineering, planning, project programming, design, project management, construction management and ability to interpret plans and drawings.\n\nExcellent communications, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.\n\nWorking knowledge of Design Review, Project Mobilization, Quality Compliance, QA, Safety, Project Controls, and Capture Management.\n\nProficient in AutoCAD 2025 or later and use AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project execution.\n\nComputer literate; can use Microsoft Office and Project, etc.\n\nAdditional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.\n\nExperience with central utility plants and energy efficiency technologies is highly desirable.\n\nExperience & Education\nMechanical Engineer Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET Accredited University with at least ten (10) years’ experience in construction or facility maintenance.\n\nMust be proficient in reviewing and analyzing HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and fire suppression systems, reviewing mechanical drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.\n\nExperience in the use of documents relating to the development of projects, contracting, and construction is necessary\n\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.\n\nPhysical Requirements/Working Environment\nLiving and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable\n\nLong hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions\n\nPersonnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.\n\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:\nTypical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.\nOther Responsibilities:\nSafety - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
