The architect will integrate firewalls, encryption, and Zero Trust principles into network designs and guide changes from Layer 2 CVPN transport to Layer 3 business-class internet transport.\nWork Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nDevelop network architecture, implementation plans, and build documentation that meet organizational performance, availability, and security needs.\nDesign and build data communications networks spanning LAN, WAN, and cloud infrastructure.\nLead network engineers and administrators through design reviews, implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support.\nDesign, deploy, and integrate Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), Cisco ASA, and other firewall technologies.\nIncorporate encryption and Zero Trust principles into network architecture and connectivity solutions.\nPlan and execute the transition from Layer 2 CVPN transport to Layer 3 business-class internet transport, including routing, security, resiliency, testing, and cutover planning.\nManage and improve complex networks, resolve escalated technical issues, and identify risks before they affect service.\nAddress cybersecurity requirements related to Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), including assessment, remediation planning, implementation, and compliance documentation.\nProduce architecture diagrams, technical standards, configuration guidance, and implementation procedures.\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Office Setting, but may be required to install sensors and cabling, requiring use of ladders and lifting up to 20 pounds.\nMinimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):\nDemonstrated ability to design and build LAN, WAN, and cloud network infrastructure.\nHands-on experience with firewalls, including Cisco Firepower FTD and Cisco ASA.\nExperience designing secure connectivity using encryption and Zero Trust principles.\nExperience leading technical teams and guiding network engineers and administrators.\nAbility to plan and execute major network transport changes, including migration from Layer 2 CVPN to Layer 3 business-class internet connectivity.\nExperience addressing network-related CVEs and cybersecurity compliance requirements.\nStrong troubleshooting, technical documentation, and communication skills.\nSecurity Clearance Required: TS/SCI CI Poly\nMinimum Education: Bachelors Degree in relevant area, such as Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other computer or information technology-related field.\nMinimum Years of Experience: At least 12 years of experience in network engineering, architecture, or administration, including experience with complex enterprise networks.\nRequired Certifications:\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).\nCisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).\nThis position [is not] designated as a safety sensitive position.\nAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, Amentum is a drug-free workplace and requires all personnel to comply with company drug and alcohol policies as a condition of employment.
