Operates forklifts up to 15,000 pound capacity and motor vehicles up to 5 ton capacity. Must have a state pipefitter license (journeyman level) (TX or AR).\nEssential Responsibilities:\n1. Lay out work and measure to locate position of pipe from drawings or other written specifications.\n2. Cut various sizes of pipe to correct lengths with chisel and hammer, oxyacetylene torch or pipe-cutting machines, threading pipe with stocks and dies.\n3. Responsible for bending pipe by hand-driven or power-driven machines.\n4. Assemble pipe with couplings and fastening pipe to hangers.\n5. Make standard shop computations relating to pressures, flow and size of pipe required; and make standard tests to determine whether finished pipes meet specification.\nPerform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:\nShop environment, in which mechanical equipment is operated, is loud and noisy, and some pieces of equipment have exposed moving components. Must be able to stand and bend for long periods. Must be able to push and test vehicles and heavy objects. Routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
