The role requires expertise in maintaining and repairing components of the Steam Generation Plant, Demineralized Water Plant, and connected distribution and collection systems. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nCertifying boilers and unfired pressure vessels (UPVs) in compliance withUFC 3-430-07 orP-606 requirements, as outlined inJ-1605000-03.\nPerforming preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and components related to theSteam Generation Plant,Demineralized Water Plant, and their associated distribution and collection systems.\nInspecting and repairing piping systems, valves, pumps, and other components to ensure safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.\nTroubleshooting system malfunctions, diagnosing faults, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and maintain plant operations.\nReplacing worn or damaged components and performing welding to repair or construct piping systems when necessary.\nConducting hydrostatic and pressure tests to certify system integrity and compliance with safety and performance standards.\nMonitoring and maintaining control systems associated with steam and water generation equipment to ensure optimal performance.\nFollowing technical directives, plans, and manuals for all repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks in the steam and water generation plants.\nDocumenting maintenance activities, certifications, and operational logs to comply with regulatory and organizational requirements.\nMaintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace while adhering to environmental and workplace safety improvements.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nQualification to certify boilers and unfired pressure vessels (UPVs) per theUFC 3-430-07 orP-606 certifications as required.\nProven experience withsteam systems,water generation systems, and complex piping infrastructure.\nDemonstrated ability to perform maintenance and repairs on components forSteam Generation Plants, Demineralized Water Plants, and associated systems.\nKnowledge of pipefitting and steamfitting principles, including welding, cutting, bending, and pressure testing.\nUnderstanding of safety standards for high-pressure systems and compliance with industry best practices.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nEmployees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.\n\nPassport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.\n\nAbility to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.\n\nAbility to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nCompleted formal apprenticeship or technical training in pipefitting, steamfitting, or related fields.\nExperience supporting military steam systems or performing maintenance in utility or industrial plant environments.\nAdvanced certifications in welding or experience with pressurized and high-temperature piping systems.\nFamiliarity with Navy or government specifications for steam and water system operations.\nPrior experience in an OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) or remote environment is preferred.\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\nSafety: Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.\nPhysical Requirements\nRequirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
