Provides pre-operational inspections and fuels ground support equipment, technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to employees in the Aircraft Washer and Plane Captain Helper classifications.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nPerforms the duties and responsibilities of the Aircraft Washer and Plane Captain Helper classifications.\nPerforms daily and turn around inspections as required to the applicable procedures.\nInitiates and completes applicable maintenance forms.\nPerforms Aircraft fuel sampling/servicing as required IAW established procedures.\nLaunches and recovers aircraft.\nServes as aircraft taxi director during launch and recovery operations.\nAircraft towing and act as aircraft brake rider when required.\nTies down and covers aircraft utilizing established procedures.\nProvides technical, assistance, guidance and instruction as required.\nUtilizes two-way communication equipment as required.\nEnsures compliance with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, Egress\nFamiliarization, and Tool Control programs.\nEnsures compliance with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.\nEnsures safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.\nProvides courteous and professional customer service.\nOperates portable firefighting equipment.\nMaintains the cleanliness of the work center.\nPerforms other qualified duties as assigned.\nPerform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nTwo (2) or more years’ experience in aviation maintenance and / or flight line operations.\nMust have valid Driver’s License.\nMust be able to obtain/maintain any company/government required qualification, certification, licensing, or security clearance.\nAbility to read, write, understand, and communicate the English language and follow verbal and written instruction.\nThorough knowledge of applicable safety and maintenance manuals.\nThorough working knowledge of aircraft flight line operations, aircraft handling, servicing, marshaling, common hand tools and normal operational safety requirements of the aircraft.\nMust be able to work any assigned shift and schedule.\nAbility to travel in support of cross-country rescues and detachments of unknown duration.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS\nPhysical Demands:\nThis classification activity requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with shop/hanger/flight line maintenance activities to include bending, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, stretching, kneeling, and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions, etc. Ability to use eye hand coordination and manual dexterity. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 70 pounds. Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. Must have close vision to include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear at the normal range. May require the use of respirator.\nWork Environment:\nThe diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
