Ensures compliance with the Performance Work Statement.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nExamines electrical equipment and systems for damages, corrosion and operation.\n\nConnects and utilizes test equipment and meters such as voltmeters, ammeters, megohmmeters and oscilloscopes.\n\nUses common hand tools, tubing and conduit benders, hand and motor operated conduit threading machines, soldering irons and grounding systems.\n\nErects, repairs and services electrical power distribution systems and equipment.\n\nOperates, maintains, tests, repairs, services, and stores electrical generating equipment, water distribution systems, flood lights, air compressors, and aircraft arresting systems.\n\nBench checks repairable components, subassemblies, and solid-state components by using test equipment, load banks, and other equipment as may be required by technical data.\n\nTests required gauges and meters to assure accuracy and reliability.\n\nInterprets electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance malfunction data related to assigned equipment to prevent potential systems failure.\n\nAnalyzes malfunctions by inspection, observation of operation, and use of test equipment.\n\nRepairs, inspects, fabricates, cleans, operates, maintains, corrosion controls, reconstitutes, and prepares BEAR assets/equipment air/sea/road haul shipments in accordance with USAF and company directives.\n\nPerforms required inspections and scheduled maintenance, troubleshoots repair situations, and performs other maintenance on all assigned equipment.\n\nInterprets electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.\n\nConforms to USAF and company safety, hazardous material and quality standards.\n\nPerforms maintenance in accordance with USAF and company directives.\n\nAssists in the erection, construction and operation of Bare Base power generation and associated equipment to support real world exercises and contingencies.\n\nPerforms servicing and/or maintenance of in-use assets as required.\n\nEnsures all tools, personal protective equipment and clothing issued remain safe, secure and serviceable, reporting any deficiencies.\n\nPrepares and completes documentation including Work Orders, USAF Supply and update Maximo.\n\nOperates material handling equipment as required.\n\nInspects Hazardous Materials within the assigned work center and coordinates with the appropriate office for the disposal of HAZMAT when required.\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.\n\nVocational/technical training, licenses, or certificates.\n\nOne (1) to three (3) years related experience. Experience working on Air Force Base Expeditionary Airfield Resources (BEAR).\n\nPrimary and Secondary Power Equipment training a plus.\n\nAble to read electrical schematics and perform technical inspections a plus.\n\nForklift experience may be required.\n\nMust be able to inspect, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.\n\nPosition may require domestic and international travel.\n\nMust be able speak, read, and write English.\n\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust U.S. Government Clearance.\n\nNOTE: U.S Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.\n\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:\nMost positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Some positions involve work in environments (e.g., shipboard, labs, outside locations, etc.) where mechanical equipment, etc. is installed, tested, analyzed/monitored, operated, and/or maintained. Equipment may be loud and noisy or have exposed moving components. Such positions may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
