Under direction of a Plant Engineering Manager, the Plant Engineering Supervisor coordinates and directs the activities of plant engineers assigned to their group. The Plant Engineering Supervisor ensures that Plant Engineering organizational priorities are implemented and pursued, and ensures that interactions with other Plant Engineering staff, Operations, Maintenance, WTP Project groups, subcontractors, and equipment vendors are adequate to perform assigned job functions. The Process Chemistry Supervisor position has additional responsibilities of campaign planning / waste feed qualification, process chemistry and water chemistry control, product qualification, and process modeling\nPrincipal Accountabilities:\nConducts work safely and in a manner that sustains the WTP Nuclear, Safety, Quality Culture.\nDirects day-to-day activities of the plant engineering group\nIdentifies issues and utilizes the project corrective action management system.\nBatch and campaign sheet preparation\nReview and analysis of analytical results from in process samples\nProcess chemistry monitoring and correction as needed\nWater chemistry monitoring and correction as needed\nProduction documentation for final waste products\nModeling of chemical processes to identify and resolve production issues as needed\nREQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS\nEducation: Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or related science from a four-year accredited college or university.\nExperience: Minimum of seven years of professional experience with at least two years of experience directing the work of others. 3 Years of Nuclear facility experience required. (Nuclear Experience when used in reference to Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities, is experience acquired at any facility in which radioactive materials are routinely handled, stored, processed, or utilized. A Bachelor of Science (BS) may be substituted for up to 2 of the 3 years of nuclear experience.) Experience with national consensus codes and standards required.\nProgression in grade is based upon complexity of assignments and sustained performance.\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS\nSupervise and lead a small group of Plant Engineers on multiple tasks\nSupport and provide system engineers independent assistance in determining operability and correcting out-of- specification conditions\nAssist groups in organizational goals and objectives within the assigned area of responsibility\nManage daily engineering activities with other Plant Engineering disciplines, maintenance, and operations\nOrganize organizational values and vision related to quality and safety\nSupport and facilitate positive and productive relationships with peers both within and external to Plant Engineering\nTrain and coach team members for skill development\nMonitor work group for timely and accurate oral and written technical reports on assigned activities\nMonitor work group for timely and accurate management procedures\nEnsure the health and safety of self and staff by implementing the principles of ISMS\nEnsure that personal conduct of work is consistent with nuclear safety and quality culture expectations\nComplete required training and maintain qualifications associated with assignments\nThis job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is responsible. Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisors request.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nCoordinate and direct the work of engineers assigned to the group\nEnsure engineers assigned to the group obtain and maintain qualifications necessary to perform their tasks\nEnsure engineers assigned to the group have sufficient resources to complete assignments\nMonitor group and individual engineer performance and ensure appropriate communication to management is provided\nConduct employee performance and feedback reviews, goal setting, and other activities related to employee growth and development\nContinually upgrade technical knowledge, training, capabilities, and evaluation of assigned personnel.\nProvide technical direction, training, and evaluation of assigned personnel\nEstablish and manage group schedules and budgets ensuring accurate status and timely communications are provided to management\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\n(EFNM)Exposed Field Non-Manual\nPerforms desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.\n\n This position is located at the WTP Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.\nMust be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Amentum visa sponsorship now or in the future.\nMust be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.\n Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
