Assists with the development of complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide the most appropriate technical solution \nSupports complex Level 1, 2, and 3 testing to qualify hardware systems for Range operations \nPlans, conducts, and assists in the execution of projects \nDevelops, recommends, and implements design approaches for products and/or processes \nCoordinates the efforts of technical support personnel for assigned projects \nAnalyzes, develops, recommends and implements approaches to meet Range requirements \nReviews literature, patents and current practices to support business requirements and/or new industry technology \nPrepares reports regarding new technology to communicate to appropriate personnel \nEvaluates component suppliers and vendor capabilities. Acts as liaison with approved vendors/suppliers to maintain product/process availability and working relationship \nServes as an interface for project information to internal management and the customers. \nDevelops an understanding of Range radars, to include transmitters, receivers, antennas and control systems. \nProvides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel \nAssists Depot with problematic repairs of Line Replaceable Units (LRU’s) \nProvides expertise to level 2 requests for engineering assistance to restore operational systems \nIdentify, document, and prioritize Radar subsystem needs/deficiencies/ inefficiencies in support of the Western Range \nSupport the development of risk statements \nRequired Skills:\nAbility to effectively communicate technical issues verbally and through written media such as graphical slides and verbal presentations to contract management and customers. \nAbility to read and understand wire diagrams, schematics and mechanical drawings \nStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills \nStrong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects \nStrong leadership and conflict management skills \nGood human relations and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external support personnel and provide guidance to less experienced engineers \nAbility to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment with time constraints \nAbility to work independently and as part of a team \nRequired Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other technical degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field. \n5+ years of working experience with RF and Radar systems.\nExperience working with Windows based computer systems and components and Office tool suite \nExperience providing inputs to complex project proposals within defined time constraints involving multi-discipline teams \nFundamental knowledge of RF to include local oscillators, doublers, mixers, programmable and fixed attenuators and amplifiers. \nFundamental knowledge of radar tracking antenna systems, including servo systems \nWorking knowledge of monopulse radar tracking systems and/or shipboard radar systems desired.\nExperience working with high power tube and solid state RF amplifiers.\nExperience with C-band pulsed Doppler tracking and wideband coherent imaging systems desired.\nFamiliar with legacy range radars types (AN/FPQ-6, AN/FPQ-14, AN/FPS-16) desired.\nFamiliarization with digital interface design to include familiarization with interface modules, cable/wire types and connector systems. \nFundamental knowledge of hardware systems integration and testing. \nFundamental knowledge of the engineering lifecycle and systems engineering processes \nGeneral knowledge of instrumentation systems troubleshooting. \nProficient in use of specialized test equipment including but not limited to VOMs, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes. \nFundamental knowledge in technical writing for development of technical reports (White Papers) and other technical support documentation. \nFamiliarization with computer systems including single-board (SBCs), servers, and workstations. \nFamiliarization with the Linux and Windows Operating systems \nSalary and Other Compensation:\nThe annual starting salary for this position is between $130,000-$150,000 annually.
