We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Effects Scientist to join our team at Amentum. As a Radiation Effects Scientist, you will be responsible for assessing and mitigating the impact of radiation on system performance. This will involve analyzing environments, transporting those environments through system enclosures, modeling the interaction of radiation with components and sensors, or testing of microelectronic components. Typical components include integrated circuits, transistors, capacitors, inductors, resistors, diodes, analog circuits, and other electronic components.\n Job Duties and Responsibilities:\nSupport engineering decisions based on radiation effects on overall system performance.\nDesign and harden systems across multiple radiation effects, including dose rate, total ionizing dose (TID), neutron displacement damage (NDD), and single event effects (SEE).\nWork with interdisciplinary teams to ensure radiation hardening is maintained across the product lifecycle.\nAssist in test plan development and review\nReview Reports\nParticipate in Radiation Review Boards\nHelp generate templates and guides\nAssist in developing training materials and tools for new hires \nAssist with testing efforts, test station setup and validation and verification efforts\nCollaborate on program requirements and provide feedback on approach to meet requirements \nRequired Qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant field. \n10+ years of Radiation Engineering, electronic component testing, or related experience.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Please note that US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.\nPreferred Qualifications: \nDoctorate degree or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering. \n10+ years of radiation engineering experience with the Department of Defense \nActive Secret Clearance\nCompensation Details:\n$150,000 - $200,000 annuallyThe compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
