This role plays a critical part in promoting a safe work environment, preventing accidents and incidents, and ensuring operational excellence. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nDeveloping and implementing a Safety Program that complies with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual.\nConducting regular safety inspections and monitoring to assess compliance with safety standards, operational protocols, and site-specific safety requirements.\nPreparing and maintaining detailed Safety Inspection and Monitoring Reports to document observations, findings, and corrective actions.\nInvestigating incidents, preparing accurate and detailed incident reports, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\nReviewing, modifying, adding, or deleting safety records for an asset as required to ensure accurate documentation and compliance.\nConducting risk assessments, identifying hazards, and implementing risk mitigation strategies to protect personnel and property.\nMonitoring work sites to ensure all safety measures and equipment are in use and functioning correctly.\nProviding guidance, training, and support to site personnel to promote safety awareness and adherence to safety procedures.\nEnsuring all safety-related documentation and records are maintained accurately and timely in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.\nCoordinating with leadership, supervisors, and contractors to ensure safety goals align with operational objectives.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nProven experience in safety inspection, program implementation, or a related role, preferably in a government or military environment.\nFamiliarity with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual and other applicable safety standards.\nAbility to prepare and maintain comprehensive safety reports, incident records, and asset safety documentation.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nStrong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessments, and corrective action development.\nExcellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail in all safety documentation.\nProficiency with basic computer applications and safety-related record-keeping software.\nMust be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.\nPassport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.\nAbility to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance requirements for the duration of deployment.\nEmployees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.\nPassport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.\nAbility to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.\nAbility to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline.\nCertifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).\nPrior experience working in austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environments with multi-national workforces.\nStrong training and presentation skills, with experience in conducting safety awareness initiatives.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\nSafety: Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.\nPhysical Requirements\nRequirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
