We’re happy to discuss hybrid, part-time and flexible working hours, patterns and locations to suit you and our business.\nAbout the Opportunity:\nAmentum is currently seeking an experienced High Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer experienced in supporting Linux environments to work supporting a High-Performance Computing environment. You will be akey contributor in supporting and evolving our high-performance computing infrastructure.\n Key Responsibilities:\nProvide ongoing support for RHEL Linux systems and applications.·\n\nDiagnose and repair physical faults and issues within these systems, such as corrupt disks or failing components.\n\nTroubleshoot software/OS problems within the systems and applications, and either implement a fix or inform the end user on how to proceed.\n\nInvestigate and implement requests for change (e.g., new software or configuration changes).\n\nEnsure that any applications and/or codes run on these systems do not pose a security threat to the system.\n\nMonitor the performance/usage of the systems by creating automated scripts and utilising a separate monitoring server; create comprehensive reports with this information.\n\nWrite and update documentation for end users and system administrators.\n\nAssist in the design and implementation of new HPC systems.\n\nHere's What You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.\n\nAt least 3 years’ experience working on Linux IT related systems.\n\nKnowledge of Linux system administration.\n\nFamiliarity with at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).\n\nInterest in high-performance computing and willingness to learn Slurm, xCAT, and Ansible.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\nGood communication and collaboration skills.\n\nAbility to work independently with mentorship and as part of a team.\n\nSole UK National status due to Role and Client requirement.\n\nAbility to attain UKSV Security Clearance.\n\nAbility to work on site 5 days a week.
