This role manages critical aspect of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, benefit administration, compliance, employee relations and investigations, and other day-to-day HR operations. The Senior HR Generalist plays a vital role in maintaining a positive workplace culture and fostering employee engagement while ensuring organizational compliance with relevant regulations and policies.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nRecruitment and Hiring: Partners with program hiring managers to understand staffing needs, assist with job postings, coordinate interviews, and ensure seamless candidate experience.\nOnboarding and Orientation: Manage new hire processing in Workday, facilitate new hire orientation and guide employees through benefit enrollment and address questions. Introducing organizational policies and promoting the company culture to new hires.\nEmployee Relations: Act as a trusted business partner for employees and managers by addressing concerns, mediating conflicts, and supporting sensitive workplace situations with professionalism and neutrality.\nHandle complex employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and recommend actionable outcomes.\nProvide coaching to managers on performance management, documentation, and effective communication strategies.\nCollaborate with program and HR leadership team to implement effective performance management strategies and tools.\nPartner with management team to respond to grievances and recommend resolution in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.\nEnsure HR activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as the collective bargaining agreements.\nAdminister FMLA, ADA accommodations, state-specific leaves, and workers’ compensation cases from initiation through return-to-work phases.\nServes as an internal resource to solve more difficult problems related to functional HR areas.\nServe as a liaison with third-party administrators and corporate office.\nSupport corporate HR initiatives, including but not limited to, annual performance reviews, merit increases, training requirements, and benefits open enrollment. \nLeverage HR systems, including Workday and applicant tracking systems, to manage workflows, analyze data and support decision making.\nContribute to ongoing HR process improvements and solutions to address complex challenges.\nCreates and maintains HR files and updates the information system in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.\nPerforms all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.\nMinimum Qualifications\nAssociate’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or a related field. Two (2) years of experience in Human Resources may be substituted for each year of the associate’s degree.\nMinimum of five (5) years of well-rounded HR generalist experience, with demonstrated expertise in employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.\nStrong experience in leave management, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and state-specific leaves, along with workers’ compensation coordination.\nFamiliarity with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and HR analytics.\nProven ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused professional environment, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.\nA track record of managing sensitive, confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.\nGeneral proficiency in HR-related tools and Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.\nMust have a valid driver's license.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in human resource management or a related field.\nExperience using Workday.\nPrevious experience working in a unionized environment and with collective bargaining agreements.\nBackground in federal government contract or relevant industry.\nSecurity & Clearance:\nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S government security clearance.
