Each developer has the opportunity to design and implement noticeable and impactful changes to the system as a whole.\nThis role will join a team of software developers in building, maintaining, and improving interfaces core to the GEODS contract. These interfaces will support the federal government in important business objectives.\nWork Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nAs a senior software developer, the expectation is that the candidate will be capable of mostly independent software development and consistent contributions involving architecture, design, and improvement of existing and new systems. The senior will be expected to be self-motivated and maintain consistent and clear communication of progress and capacity to seek direction in performing the job function in order to maintain the big picture goal of the development task.\nThe senior software developer should be able to guide and mentor, pending gaining their own experience on the program, junior members and new members joining the program as software developers to establish and maintain a consistent culture of quality and collaboration.\nBelow are bulleted expectations from the Senior Software Developer:\nAttend daily standups to provide situational representation of progress of any current development efforts on developer’s own behalf and ensure any blockers, collaboration requirements, or requests for information are met\nParticipate and provide constructive critique in peer reviews of team member merge requests\nLearn, execute and improve the full software release life cycle in the program\nContribute DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself), well documented, and easy to understand code as a team member\nCreate and maintain unit and integration tests to meet regression test standards\nLearn, implement, improve, maintain CI/CD pipeline for team\nContribute to technical documentation regarding system architecture, design, usage, and release or deploy\nProvide timely analysis and response to priority issues in the system as they appear\nCollaborate with cross team dependents in preparation and production of timely, reliable, controlled releases of software components\nProvide technical expertise over system of responsibility for internal or external interested parties not directly involved in development of the codebase\nDemonstrate ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical concepts in a direct manner.\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Office environment, light physical demands, must have ability to attend to mental tasks for the duration of the workday.\nMinimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):\nAt least 4 years of demonstrated experience coding in Java or Python\nAt least 4 years of demonstrated experience in Front-end development, preferably React JavaScript\nDemonstrated experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD, specifically utilizing GitLab or similar Git repository\nDemonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform in AWS, or other cloud providers\nDemonstrated experience with Container and Orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)\nStrong experience with AWS, including but not limited to EC2, DynamoDB, ECS, SQS/SNS, IAM, Lambda, and CDK\nDemonstrated ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, complex technical concepts and challenges/obstacles in a clear and direct manner\nSecurity Clearance Required:\nActive TS/SCI Poly\nMinimum Education:\nMaster’s degree plus 2 years experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years experience, Associates degree plus 6 years experience, or a minimum of 8 years experience, in relevant field\nMinimum Years of Experience:\nMaster’s degree plus 2 years experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years experience, Associates degree plus 6 years experience, or a minimum of 8 years experience, in relevant field\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAt least 4 years of demonstrated experience with software development using SAFe or similar Agile methodologies, to include working with Scrum Masters and/or Product Owners to decompose high level requirements into actionable user stories\nAt least 4 years of demonstrated experience coding in Python, Java, or other backend predominate language\nAt least 4 years of demonstrated experience in Front-end development in React, using JavaScript and/or TypeScript\nAt least 4 years of demonstrated experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD, specifically utilizing GitLab or similar Git repository with either GitHub Jobs or Gitlab Jobs using CI templates\nPractical Cloud experience and certification(s), preferably from AWS, OCI or Google Cloud\nFamiliarity with AI/ML, specifically Amazon SageMaker\nDatabase experience with Postgres creating, maintenance, and execution of SQL code on databases\nExperience creating, maintaining, and improving full stack applications that involve an interface, API, and database layer\nExperience in integrating with varying external and internal systems not directly developed by team in a collaborative fashion\nExperience with Atlassian suite, specifically Jira and Confluence\nPrevious NGA experience\nThis position is not designated as a safety sensitive position.\nAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, Amentum is a drug-free workplace and requires all personnel to comply with company drug and alcohol policies as a condition of employment.
