The Senior Solutions Architect will play a critical role in driving the development of innovative, competitive, and tailored solutions for Federal government proposals. This pivotal role is responsible for translating client needs, capture strategies, and compliance requirements into compelling technical and operational solutions that align with organizational goals and win strategies. The ideal candidate has a strong background in developing solutions for and writing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)-based, Commercial Solution Opening (CSO), or Other Transaction Authority (OTA) proposal artifacts, with expertise in systems engineering, IT, and/or mission support, and excels at defining creative, compliant, and cost-effective approaches to meet and exceed customer requirements.\nThe Senior Solution Architect will serve as the senior technical architect across selected Federal pursuits. The individual will own the technical strategy and proposal response, including development of the technical solution, staffing approach, implementation considerations, Basis of Estimate inputs, and supporting technical artifacts. They will also act as technical volume manager or lead where required, interview SMEs, integrate partner capabilities, and ensure the final response is technically credible, compliant, customer focused, and aligned to the overall capture strategy. The candidate must be able to proactively engage with key Amentum stakeholders to include Business Development account managers, Capture Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and other Solutions Architects to develop technical solutions and proposal technical responses. This position requires outstanding writing skills as well as the ability to convey complex technical solutions and compliance information within the systems engineering domain space in a highly readable, customer-focused format.\nResponsibilities include:\nServing as the senior technical architect across the pursuit lifecycle and within an integrated growth team, including proposal, capture and business development activities.\nProviding end-to-end thought leadership across proposal responses that include elements such as technical solution, staffing, implementation schedule, and BOE\nProviding expert technical writing capabilities in the development of technical artifacts, white papers, statements of work, briefings and proposals.\nWorking with teaming partners to develop technical solutions, integration of teaming partners’ capabilities, and pricing strategies, etc.\nExploring new approaches/enabling technologies to drive solution innovation and improvements and ensure corporate solutions are relevant for current and emerging trends\nSupporting the capture of business and technical requirements and clearly convey them to audiences of varying technical skill levels.\nLeading and mentoring junior staff in responding to RFI’s and RFP’s\nWorking independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment, completing multiple complex tasks simultaneously.\nMinimum Requirements:\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.\n10+ years of experience in FAR-based and OTA Federal technical solutions development, including experience in technical architect roles or pursuit of complex Federal proposals.\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field (8+ years of additional experience may be considered as equivalent to Bachelor’s degree).\nStrong systems engineering background with specific experience in multidisciplinary systems integration.\nHands on experience architecting technical solutions for federal proposals rather than contributing only as a technical SME.\nProven ownership of technical proposal sections or full technical volumes across complex RFI and RFP responses.\nAbility to translate customer needs, capture strategy, compliance requirements, and technical inputs into a clear proposal response.\nStrong understanding of the federal growth lifecycle including Business Development, capture, solutioning, proposal, and customer positioning.\nOutstanding technical writing skills with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts in a highly readable and persuasive format.\nExperience interviewing SMEs and turning technical inputs into structured proposal content.\nExperience across relevant domains such as systems engineering, mission IT, cloud, cybersecurity, operations and maintenance, or mission support.\nExperience working with teaming partners to integrate capabilities, solution approaches, and supporting pricing or Basis of Estimate inputs.\nDemonstrated knowledge of AI and ML platforms and tools.\nPreferred Qualificaitons:\nSystem Engineering expertise within space operations, satellite C2, ground systems, MBSE, enterprise cloud/DevSecOps, and applied AI/ML.\nITIL, or AWS Solutions Architect certification.\nCertifications in topic-specific areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, or project management (e.g., CISSP, PMP).\nMaster’s degree preferred.\nCompensation Details:\n$180,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
