Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program\nKnowledge and experience with specialized mechanical equipment\nExperience with management of scope, schedule, and budget of individual projects\nAbility to follow established Amentum’s quality procedures and ensures that all work accomplished under their control is accomplished under established quality procedures\nExperience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1\nKnowledge of machine design, selection of machine elements (bearings, seals, etc.) and machine controls (hydraulic, electrical, etc.)\nMentoring specialty mechanical engineers and designers\nCommunication of complex ideas to management and clients\nCreation and review of complex mechanical calculations\nCompetent using discipline-specific technical software such as: SOLIDWORKS, Creo, ANSYS, etc.\nCompetence using Microsoft Office software\nUS citizenship required\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nIdeal candidate would have 15+ years of experience\nMaster’s degree is a plus\nDOE Q clearance is preferred but not required\nA person residing a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office\n\nWork Environment:\nPrimarily office-based work in a secure engineering environment \nAmentum office location is preferred; hybrid or remote work may be available by prior agreement based on role and project requirements\nOccasional exposure to industrial facilities, which may include elevated noise levels, hazardous materials, or controlled areas\nSite visits may be required\n\nEssential Functions:\nIntermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary.
