To learn more, clickhere\nResponsibilities:\nASED is expecting a large spike in customer demand for design engineers across multiple areas to include mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering to support our Nation’s ambitious lunar exploration goals. These positions are projected to focus on the new Lunar Lander Spacecraft and adjacent hardware projects for the Artemis Program. Some of the specific tasks will include mechanical component design, spacecraft structures design, fluid system design, electrical harness design, and mechanical and electrical system integration/assembly.\nCandidate must be able to support aggressive schedules to meet deliverable due dates, and occasional overtime may be required. Roles will require working as part of an integrated product team with other contractors as well as NASA Civil Servants from various organizations and disciplines to release engineering documentation for the manufacture of flight hardware.\nDevelop designs as well as detailed fabrication and assembly drawings and provide fabrication support to manufacturing personnel. \nCollaborate with outside vendors and personnel from NASA. \nDevelop and deliver reports and presentations to MSFC and Amentum management as needed. \nPositions will be on-site, but remote opportunities may also be available.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or experience in the approximate 5-30 year range.\nProficiency in Creo/Pro-Engineer 3-D modeling and 2-D drafting.\nProficiency utilizing Windchill.\nDemonstrated expertise in your specific design discipline applicable to flight hardware or other quality sensitive products.\nPreferences:\nExperience supporting NASA human spaceflight programs, aerospace, defense, or highly regulated technical programs.\nBasic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5M-1994) and experience applying GD&T to fully dimensioned production drawings.\nGeneral understanding of manufacturability and design fabrication practices for flight hardware.\nStrong oral and written communication skills to better support the customer during design presentations and status meetings. \nEssential Functions\nWork Environment\nOffice and laboratory environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Requires travel in the domestic USA (\nPhysical Requirements\nRequires sitting for extended periods of time in meetings with peers, management, and with our client at NASA facilities to discuss technical issues (10%). Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk to write reports and perform engineering tasks (40%). Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at NASA and our facilities (10%).\nEquipment and Machines\nRequires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment (100%).\nAttendance\nNormal workdays are from 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Minimal overtime may be required (20%) to meet schedule milestones and to support technical demands of the job.
