This position is responsible for the accurate and timely verification of prescription orders for a defined site patient population, including one time and as-needed doses to support clinic operations. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position on a rotational shift schedule. The pharmacist directly supervises pharmacy technicians and ensures compliance with federal, state, DEA, and USP standards while coordinating with prescribers, insurance, and clinic staff to maintain safe, uninterrupted medication access.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nPrescription Verification\nVerify new and refill prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety, including dose indication, drug interactions, allergies, and duplicate therapy.\nConfirm prescriber authenticity and DEA registration for controlled substance orders.\nApply clinical judgment to identify and resolve discrepancies prior to dispensing.\nOrder Clarification\nContact prescribers directly to clarify ambiguous, incomplete, or clinically questionable orders.\nEscalate high risk or unresolved orders per pharmacy protocol.\nClinic Support\nDispenses one-time and as-needed doses to support clinic visits and urgent patient needs.\nCoordinates with clinic providers to ensure timely medication availability for same day or unscheduled encounters.\nMaintains appropriate documentation for one-time dose dispensing distinct from standard prescription dispensing workflows.\nMonitors prior authorization requests and formulary conflicts.\nPerforms other duties as assigned within scope of practice.\nInventory Management\nMonitors stock levels and coordinates with logistics department to order medications to prevent shortages and overstock.\nOversees proper storage rotation and disposal of medications, including controlled substances.\nConducts monthly periodic inventory counts and reconciles discrepancies.\nNon-Sterile Compounding\nOversees preparation of non-sterile compounds in accordance with USP 795 standards.\nEnsures accuracy of compounding logs and documentation per regulatory requirements.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nDirectly supervises pharmacy technicians including tasks, delegation, competency verification, and its oversight.\nEnsures technician work is performed within the scope of practice and in compliance with state board regulations.\nProvides training and ongoing education to technician staff on updated protocols and procedures.\nRegulatory Compliance\nMaintains documentation in accordance with federal and state pharmacy law, DEA regulations, and USP 795 standards.\nEnsures controlled substance handling, recordkeeping and reporting meet all applicable requirements.\nSupports readiness for board inspections and internal audits.\nReports adverse events and medication errors per facility policy.\nundefined\nQUALIFICATIONS\n;\">QUALIFICATIONS;\">undefined\n\">\">undefined\n Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.\n Active unrestricted Pharmacist (RPh) License.\nWorking knowledge of USP 795 non-sterile compounding standards.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nProficiency with pharmacy dispensing software.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
