The Supervising Systems Engineer is responsible for leading and performing requirements management, integration, and verification of client requirements across multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure successful delivery of complex engineering projects for the Department of Energy (DOE) and other nuclear clients. Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, project management, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration will be instrumental in influencing the success of intricate nuclear projects.\nAs a Supervising Systems Engineer, essential responsibilities include:\nPlanning, leading and reviewing Systems Engineering activities for the development of advanced nuclear facilities and laboratories.\n\nCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of requirements for nuclear infrastructure projects.\n\nAssemble and manage the definition of requirements to satisfy customers and project end goals.\n\nDrive configuration management of systems generated deliverables\n\nCommunicate in a manner that is consistent, effective, and efficient in both written and oral forms, across all levels of the project (customer, internal resources, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, etc.).\n\nInterface with client stakeholders to ensure project expectations are being met.\n\nAssist the project team and other stakeholders in developing interface definitions and controls to ensure integration across engineering disciplines and with owner and third-party vendor supplied special equipment.\n\nManage requirements in a database tool to assist in documentation, control, and verification of requirements.\n\nEnsure the project team maintains requirements compliance and that requirements are satisfied during project delivery. Demonstrate the achievement of verification in a database tool and published reports.\n\nAssist the project team in change management and impacts to satisfying documented requirements.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nUS Citizen\n\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.\n\n5-7 years of Engineering experience. Preference given to 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience with at least 2+ years leading technical teams.\n\nPosition may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.\n\nAbility to travel up to 20%.\n\nMust be a self-starter, able to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple levels and reporting lines.\n\nMust demonstrate a well-rounded knowledge of engineering disciplines associated with nuclear facility infrastructure.\n\nMust have strong relationship management, facilitation, and consulting skills.\n\nDemonstrated experience / knowledge of the Engineering Design Process (control of design inputs and verification/validation of outputs).\n\nExperienced / skilled in change management.\n\nAppropriate combination of education, experience, and competency:\n\nExperienced in utilizing a comprehensive requirements management system or a particular Requirements Management Tool (e.g. Jama, DOORS, etc.).\n\nExperienced and fully versed in writing and reviewing technical quality documentation.\n\nExperience working in safety and operational requirements, from initial design to final implementation, by managing requirements, conducting analyses, and verifying compliance.\n\nExperience working with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.\n\nOther requirements\nINCOSE ASEP certification, required\n\nProficiency in TraceCloud requirements management tool, highly desired\n\nKnowledge of DOE orders, standards, and guidelines for nuclear facility design\n\n**Not a remote position.
