Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Technical Librarian (Facilities) to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.\nJob Responsibilities:\nMaintain a centralized technical library supporting facilities and infrastructure operations, ensuring that all documents, blueprints, manuals, and drawings are current and accurately cataloged.\nCatalogue, maintain, and issue technical documentation, including engineering drawings, equipment manuals, maintenance manuals, and manufacturer data.\nEnsure compliance with all library management standards by adhering to proper indexing, filing, storage, and version control protocols.\nProvide technical documentation and references in response to requests from engineering, maintenance, and operational personnel.\nPerform regular audits and updates of technical materials, ensuring all documents meet operational, organizational, and Navy standards.\nImplement and maintain document control processes to ensure proper authorization and updated distribution of technical data.\nSupport electronic document management systems (EDMS) for storing and disseminating technical information.\nDevelop and maintain procedures for library workflows, including document retention, storage standards, setup of archives, and security of controlled materials.\nTrain staff and contractors on proper use of the technical library, including locating materials and accessing electronic resources for operational needs.\nStay current on industry best practices and technologies for managing technical libraries and propose improvements as needed.\nPerform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.\nRequired Qualifications:\n1-3 years of relevant experience managing technical libraries, document control, or equivalent roles within facilities management, engineering, or related industries.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nFamiliarity with technical documents such as engineering drawings, operating manuals, and maintenance records.\nAbility to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.\nMust be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.\nPassport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.\nAbility to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.\nMust be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.\nValid country driver's license.\nExperience in library management software or electronic document management systems (EDMS).\nKnowledge of Navy document control requirements, including military standards for technical manuals and plans.\nStrong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, with experience in maintaining version control and document security.\nAssociate’s degree or higher preferred, especially in library science, information systems, or similar fields relevant to document or technical management.\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train and assist personnel in technical resource utilization.\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\nSafety:\nAmentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.\nPhysical Requirements\nRequirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
