Our commitments are underpinned by the belief that safety, collaboration and well-being are integral to success.\nAmentum is seeking a Grounds Laborer to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Transient Line Technician is responsible for assisting the Transient Line Production Superintendent with ground handling and servicing of arriving and departing aircraft.\nJob Responsibilities\nPerforming standard aviation operations and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. \nProviding ground handling and servicing for arriving and departing aircraft, including refueling, towing, and securing as required.\nFollowing and performing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standard marshaling commands, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft movements on the ground.\nSupporting aircraft maintenance checks, inspections, and operational activities under supervision.\nCoordinating with T-Line supervisors and other team members to ensure timely servicing of all aircraft.\nOperating ground support equipment (GSE) and other vehicles in compliance with safety protocols.\nAssisting in the implementation of procedures for safe handling of large-body aircraft operations, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with aviation industry and organizational standards.\nIdentifying and resolving minor maintenance or servicing issues when required or escalating them to the appropriate personnel.\nMaintaining records of services performed and reporting any discrepancies or issues encountered during servicing activities.\nPerform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.\nRequired Qualifications:\nMinimum two (2) years of general aircraft maintenance experience. (Experience with large-body aircraft is preferred.)\nDemonstrated understanding of FAA standard marshalling commands and ability to perform these tasks confidently.\nMust possess a current and valid driver’s license (U.S. or International).\nKnowledge of aviation ground handling practices and procedures, with an emphasis on safety compliance.\nAbility to successfully complete annual training in accordance with applicable Air Force training guidance.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMust be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.\nPassport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.\nAbility to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.\nAbility to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.\nAbility to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment. Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFormal aviation ground handling certifications or related training.\nPrevious experience in servicing large-body aircraft operations, including cargo and passenger aircraft.\nFamiliarity with Air Mobility Command (AMC) procedures and best practices.\nPrior experience in an OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) operational environment or austere environments with a multi-national workforce.\nValid country driver’s license.\nExcellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\nSafety: Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements. \nPhysical Requirements\nRequirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
