To learn more, clickhere\nThe International Space Station (ISS) Projects Office manages and performs human-rated space projects and tasks in support of the International Space Station program. The ISS Projects Office is responsible for leading project planning, budgeting, scheduling, testing, cost control, sustaining engineering, payload integration and operations for projects such as: Microgravity Science Glovebox (MSG) and Life Sciences Glovebox (LSG). The purpose of the Microgravity and Life Sciences Glovebox (MLSG) Project is to manage and provide sustaining engineering, payload integration engineering and facility maintenance for both the MSG and LSG in support of the ISS Program.\nResponsibilities:\nThe MLSG Utilization Integration Manager (UIM), formerly known as the Glovebox Integration Engineer (GIE) will support MSG and LSG payload integration and serve as the primary interface between the MLSG Project team and the Payload Developer (PD)/Payload Integration Manager (PIM).\nSpecific duties include, but are not limited to:\nGenerate Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Utilization Memos (UMs) to document payload to facility interfaces and requirements.\nDevelop Materials Compatibility memos to document the material mitigations to protect each facility.\nReport weekly payload/product integration status to the MLSG Project Office.\nUnderstand facility requirements and coordinate with stake holders to be able to get the correct data to close out verification.\nAnalyze, review, and submit MLSG payload verifications to the ISS Program and the VERITAS database.\nReview and approve ISS/Facility resource requirements from PDs.\nCoordinate with PIMs for payload schedule and status of deliverables.\nParticipate in ISS Program payload safety reviews as facility subject matter expert.\nAttend payload design reviews (Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), etc.) to coordinate available facility resources.\nCoordinate and support the payload Test Readiness Inspection (TRI) and Integration Verification Testing (IVT).\nSupport program, project, and payload meetings/statuses (MLSG weekly meetings, boards, and panels, etc.).\nUnderstand facility requirements and coordinate with stakeholders to be able to get the correct data to close verification.\nQualifications\nDegree in Engineering, Science, Math, or related technical field is required. Degree from an ABET accredited institution preferred. Typically, the requirements are the equivalent of a minimum of a master’s with 8 years of experience, or bachelor’s with 10 years of experience.\nRequired:\nExperience in payload hardware integration and/or space operations support.\nUnderstanding of the ISS Program structure, including the role of each ISS Program organization in the launch, integration, on-orbit operation, and return of facility and payload hardware.\nGeneral knowledge of Marshall and Johnson Space Center databases such as ORBIT, VERITAS, etc. and Microsoft tools.\nExperience in defining payload hardware or facility requirements, verification coordination, analysis, and verification submittals.\nA demonstrated proactive approach to coordination with multiple stakeholders (ie. Payload Developers, Principal Investigators, PIMs, and project office representatives). \nA high level of initiative with strong problem-solving skills.\nAbility to operate independently with minimum supervision and complete tasks per project schedule.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.\nDesired:\nExperience reporting payload/product integration status.\nExperience submitting payload verification closures in VERITAS.\nBeing able to successfully manage multiple projects at different phases of completion is a plus.\nEssential Functions\nProof of U.S. Citizenship is required.\nWork Environment:\nOffice environment.
