We deliver safe, reliable energy to more than 1,200 communities.\nOur benefits include:\nMedical coverage on date of hire\n\n100% employer paid cash balance pension plan\n\n401(k) with company match fully vested on date of hire\n\nMinimum of 15 days paid vacation and 12 paid holidays\n\nPaid parental leave and family caregiver leave\n\nVisit our Benefits and Perks Page for more information on benefits provided to regular full-time employees.\nThe Engineer is responsible for the identification, stratification and implementation of reliability improvement and Advanced Distribution Automation opportunities in Illinois.\nKey responsibilities include:\nDesign , implement, and maintain the Volt-Var Optimization (VVO) program for AIC\nSupport the integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER's) into the distribution electric operations system both for reliability and economic purposes.\nProvide support, technical expertise and guidance to Illinois Distribution Control staff as well as Division engineering staff.\nProvide expertise in the area of data analysis, outage management, Scada, distribution automation (DA), circuit coordination, post disturbance analysis, etc.\nConsult collaboratively with all Illinois Distribution Control and Reliability stakeholders on projects that will help drive performance excellence across Ameren Illinois Operations.\nProvide management oversight of turn-key DA projects for Illinois Operations.\nProvide analysis and recommendations to maximize the positive impact of Illinois budgetary allocations for reliability-based projects and initiatives.\nWork as part of a team to develop and implement a long-term plan for overall reliability improvement within Illinois.\nSupport the Ameren Illinois Emergency Operations Center during significant events.\nProvide on call support for the various software systems utilized in Distribution Control and the DA areas. Work location is primarily in an office environment, although construction site visits/inspections involving outside activities are required periodically.\nQualifications\nBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Electrical preferred. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred. Engineering experience preferred.\nIn addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:\nGood organization, decision-making, communication, and human relations skills required. Must have ability to function well in a collaborative, team-building environment. Must be able to work under limited supervision. Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.\nCompensation Range:\n$72,600.00 - $176,100.00* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.\nAt Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered.
