This role is responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and optimization of control systems across Ameren renewable assets.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse and rapidly growing fleet of solar, wind, BESS, and fuel cell assets, directly impacting grid reliability. The SCADA Project Engineer will be a key contributor in advancing automation, performance, and innovation across Ameren generation assets.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist in the execution and delivery of large renewable and inverter-based generation engineering projects from development through design, construction, testing, closeout and operation.\nPerform and participate in technical design reviews of project electrical and SCADA systems, including generation tie-line, collector substation, plant fiber layout, field networking, meteorological stations, and plant SCADA.\nCollaborate with project management to track design and construction schedules to effectively coordinate with appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure critical milestones are met on time.\nSupport on-site installation and commissioning activities of the site SCADA system and network. Review results for accuracy and compliance.\nSupport Renewable Operations by providing technical expertise.\nPerform engineering specification development for all renewable technologies in the Ameren portfolio, and revise those for project specific construction, engineering, and equipment needs.\nQualifications\nBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university required. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred. Electrical Engineering degree preferred.\n3-5 years of relevant SCADA technical or engineering experience preferred. Experience working within the renewable energy industry preferred.\nUnderstanding of SCADA systems and plant-level monitoring/control architectures.\nExperience with PV solar and/or BESS designs and control systems a plus (technical experience in related fields will be considered).\nExperience working with logic control platforms a plus.\nFamiliarity with HMI systems a plus.\nExperience supporting commissioning and field troubleshooting preferred.\nFamiliarity with communications, including communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, etc.) and networking standards (serial, Ethernet TCP/IP, fiber optic) a plus.\nIn addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:\nGood leadership, analytical, and social skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment and the ability to adapt to that efficiently. Travel to project sites to support SCADA installation required, with additional travel to support start-up and commissioning activities as necessary.\nWorking Conditions\nHybrid: Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person). Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.\nCompensation Range:\n$72,600.00 - $176,100.00* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials.\nAt Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered.
