Our comprehensive portfolio is built to address the challenges of today and adapt the future, ensuring long-term sustainability and success for our customers.\nAmeresco has an immediate opening for a Energy Engineer / Analyst to join our Performance Engineering team, supporting a diverse multi-site portfolio spanning commercial office, K-12, healthcare, and government facilities. This role blends deep building systems expertise, data analytics fluency, and customer engagement - operating at the intersection of engineering, FDD/MBCx, and M&V.\nResponsibilities:\nEvaluate potential energy savings and demand reduction opportunities, including operational changes and capital measures.\nAnalyze interval (15-min/hourly) utility and sub-meter data to characterize load profiles, identify demand charge drivers, and detect anomalies.\nExecute MBCx workflows including baseline establishment, ongoing performance monitoring, and savings persistence verification; identify and present operational ECMs to facility stakeholders.\nSupport the development and implementation of campus metering systems (electricity, gas, steam, chilled water); develop specifications and single-line diagrams; oversee meter commissioning and EMIS/DAS integration.\nConfigure, deploy, and manage FDD rule sets within EMIS/analytics platforms; triage and prioritize fault alerts and develop fault impact estimates to support O&M decision-making.\nMeasure and verify performance of energy management programs over time.\nDeliver clear technical reports and presentations translating complex analytics into actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nOther duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Computer Science, or related STEM field.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in energy engineering, building performance analysis, or related discipline.\nTravel Required.\nAdditional Qualifications:\nCEM, CMVP, or CCP certification.\nPrior customer-facing or consulting experience.\nHands-on experience troubleshooting, retro-commissioning, or monitoring based commissioning of HVAC systems and central cooling and heating plants.\nFamiliar with measurement and verification methods and protocols.\nWorking knowledge of BAS/BMS platforms.\nEnergy and data analysis experience, including:Data driven modeling,\nInterval meter data analysis,\nEnergy efficiency and demand reduction opportunities for HVAC, cooling and heating plants and distributed energy resources.\n\nWorking knowledge of advanced data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, R)\nExperience leveraging AI tools effectively and appropriately in an energy engineering context.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills; high emotional intelligence; solutions-oriented mindset with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.\nThe anticipated base salary range for this role is $80,900 - $128,750 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.\nActual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
