QE Consultant

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Testing Expertise:

• Experience writing test scripts, developing test plans, and end-to-end testing documentation.
• Experience leading a technology team, delivering results, and managing relationships with management enterprise-wide.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present status reports and risk assessments to project leadership.

Automation Expertise:

• Experience with automation strategies, frameworks, and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Experience with integrating automated testing scripts with DevOps tools and processes.

Leadership and People Management:

• Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.
• Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance, and explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying them fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect.
• Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.
• Coach and mentor testing team members in business domain knowledge, functional testing, automation, and non-functional testing.
• Employ a results-oriented approach to ensure successful delivery; proactively manage risk and find solutions. Monitor milestones, and ensure they're completed according to timelines and budgets.

Project Coordination and Delivery:

• Manage efforts of internal staff and external vendors to ensure timely completion of test phases.
• Monitor project milestones, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful delivery.
• Help to remove obstacles or risks impacting project timelines and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Collaboration:

• Build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.
• Work horizontally across multiple departments to deliver end-to-end. Coach and mentor your teams as you work towards a common goal and negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
• Negotiate deliverables and milestones as necessary.

Cross-Functional Relationship:

• Collaborates with internal and external technology and business partners to deliver high-quality testing solutions.
• Participates in committees and forums related to testing standards and practices.

Authories/Decision Rights:

• As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• As a manager of people, this job has the authority to assign tasks to employees within their span of control, select individuals for hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions, and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination.

Job Dimensions:

• Direct management of the Quality Engineering team within the Digital and Contact Center Technology group.
• Responsible for the execution and oversight of multiple concurrent testing projects.
• Manages internal and external resources, including vendors, to support testing activities.
• Accountable for the achievement of testing deliverables within project timelines and budgets.
• Provides advisory and support services to project teams across various lines of business.

Requirements:

• Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in QE with 4+ in management roles, with proficient knowledge of the testing life cycle, SDLC, and defect management processes for application testing and support.
• 5+ years of experience in automation or an equivalent technical role, with hands-on expertise in test automation tools (Selenium/Robot Framework, Parasoft SOAtest, Postman, Rest Assured, Cucumber, or similar).
• Experience with test management tools (JIRA, HP ALM).
• Strong understanding of QE processes and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to express technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence outcomes.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and industry changes.

Nice to have:

• Experienced in IVR testing and familiar with standard IVR tools such as Hammer, Cyara Botium, and Cyara Velocity
• Preferred experience with Python and Java and SQL database skills.
