Haul and move materials, supplies and equipment; clean and remove ashes and debris; cut grass and weeds; dig ditches; work on tracks\nTrack beds; replace light bulbs and similar unskilled manual tasks.\nClean and perform lubrication and minor repairs on equipment.\nSecure, identify and transport coal samples, as directed.\nInspect fire equipment as assigned.\nOperate mobile equipment as assigned assist offloading fuel trucks and other fuel deliveries.\nReport irregularities and abnormal conditions to the appropriate supervision .\nAssist in training other employees and instruct and direct other employees assigned to assist.\nPerform similar or less skilled work\nWhat we’re looking for:\n2-year technical degree or or high school diploma and two years related military and/or electric utility technical experience Must have performed the duties of, and have maintained all the qualifications and current certifications of Equipment Operator-Junior, and must be able to pass an examination and/or demonstrations as determined by the Company Must satisfactorily complete, in such time frames as may be established by the Company, all required training to advance to the Coal Equipment Operator classification , or vacate the Coal Handler classification. \nOther preferences:\nPhysical demands required for this job, but not limited to:\nAbility to operate heavy equipment, use motorized equipment and hand tools\nWaking, standing and working in hazardous terrain and extreme weather conditions\nClimb ladders and onto equipment, climb stairs,\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds, push pull up to 50 pounds, work in awkward body positions\nIn addition to a competitive compensation, AEP offers a unique comprehensive benefits package that aims to support and enhance the overall well-being of our employees.\nAt AEP, we’re more than just an energy company - we’re a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.
